Hello, and welcome to the thread. In this thread you will find information about all the weapon in the game Modern warfare 2. Today I will be talking about Assault rifles, Enjoy! I will post the Sub machine guns as soon as I can

Let me know what you think. I tried to do a table of contents but it went wrong sorry, could someone tell me exactly what to do? Thanks.
M4A1:In multiplayer the M4A1 becomes available at Level 4, when Create-a-Class is unlocked. It is very similar to the ACR, firing 50 RPM faster but having slightly higher recoil and lower range. This essentially makes it inferior to the ACR since having a firing rate 50 RPM faster is barely noticeable, while the higher recoil and lower range can make a big difference at long range. However, even this small increase in fire rate may make the difference at close range, especially with Stopping Power.

FAMAS:Similar to the M16A4, the FAMAS is a very effective assault rifle especially at range. Despite the Create-a-Class' stats menu shows that it has low damage, one burst will kill with Stopping Power at any range, as long as all three shots hit. If fired without stopping power, at least one headshot is required. Due to the high rate of fire per burst, the FAMAS will top out most other assault rifles and even SMG's at close range. The FAMAS resets perfectly after each burst allowing continuous accurate fire over a long range. This, coupled with its high penetration, allows one to easily kill through cover. A red dot sight can be used to mitigate the bulky iron sights for mid to long range combat.

The FAMAS is available as early as Level 1 with the default Grenadier class, equipped with an undermounted M203 and a silenced SPAS-12 as the secondary, together with the perks Scavenger, Stopping Power, and Commando >

SCAR-H:Unlocked at Level 8 in multiplayer, the high damage and low recoil of the SCAR-H makes it popular among players, despite its small magazine capacity and relatively low rate of fire. Along with the FAL, it has the smallest magazine size of all the assault rifles (making this weapon a good choice for unlocking the "Surgical" title), and it also has a fairly long reload time. Stopping Power is useful with this weapon - though the rifle doesn't depend on it to be effective due to its relatively high damage, it can be useful to rack up more kills without reloading as many times or to preserve ammo if Scavenger is not unlocked. It is also extremely useful for close range fighting due to its high damage, although the TAR-21 is slightly more effective in this role. In medium range, the SCAR will also dominate most assault rifles because of its high damage. The rifle only comes with 60 total rounds (two magazines plus one already in the gun), meaning that the SCAR-H will run out of ammo very quickly, making Scavenger a useful perk. The SCAR-H is arguably one of the most effective assault rifles at long range as it has good accuracy, precise iron sights, high damage, but has moderate vertical and slight side-to-side shaking, making it easier to control than guns with both high vertical and horizontal recoil. In hardcore mode this gun will kill with one bullet with the exception of shooting through cover. Grip can be found on the Scar-H in the campaign mission, S.S.D.D.

TAR-21:This weapon is unlocked at Level 20. The TAR-21 carries 30-round magazines, deals 40-30 damage per shot and fires at 750 RPM, making it one of the highest damage-output weapons in the game. The weapon also possesses moderate recoil and is somewhat inaccurate. This makes it difficult to use in the hands of an unskilled player at long ranges without short, controlled bursts of fire, especially with the use of an ACOG Scope. This is partially alleviated with a Silencer, as lack of muzzle flash increases visibility and effective accuracy.

FAL:In multiplayer, the FAL is unlocked at Level 28. While this rifle's semi-automatic nature reduces its effectiveness at close range, an experienced player with a fast trigger finger can easily double tap an enemy in close range without aiming down the sights. This same semi-automatic firing allows the player to control how much ammo is used and increases the FAL's effectiveness at long range, even though the shooter must pause briefly between shots to let the recoil settle. Because of this long-range prowess, the FAL closes the gap between assault rifles and sniper rifles. This weapon is mostly seen or used with a modded controller. This gives the user a unfair advantage because of its high damage. If you attach the grenade launcher and then go into a game grenade launcher is misspelt Grenade LAUCHER.

M16A4:The M16A4 returns in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2. It behaves similarly to the Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare version with some small differences. It is now unlocked at level 40 in multiplayer and its reload animation is now identical to that of the M4A1. A Picatinny rail has been added to the carrying handle (this is, however, redundant as the handle itself is mounted on one, and is removed when any other sight is used). The rear sight aperture has been made thinner than the Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare version, giving a cleaner, less cluttered sight picture. Also, Camouflage is now only applied to the rail covers, the stock, the magazine and any Attachment, with the exception of the Masterkey, M203 and Silencer.

ACR:In multiplayer, the ACR is unlocked at Level 48. The ACR is similar to the M4A1 but sacrifices rate of fire for higher accuracy and has virtually no recoil. It carries 30 rounds in its magazine, deals 30-20 damage per shot, and has a fire rate of 750 RPM. The ACR, although it bounces when firing, has zero recoil as it resets perfectly before the next shot, which makes it ideal for medium and long range combat. Its moderately low damage per second makes it somewhat weak in close quarters combat compared to other automatic weapons, making it a good candidate for use with the Masterkey Shotgun.

F2000:In multiplayer, it is unlocked at Level 60 (Major General II). Even though this rifle is in bullpup configuration, it has high recoil and bad accuracy. Due to these reasons, it is the most overlooked assault rifle in the game, as its high vertical recoil makes it difficult to kill enemies at medium and long range. Firing in bursts is essential at range. Generally, the F2000 is only used by players who have recently unlocked the weapon. The F2000 has the highest rate of fire of all of the assault rifles. Its inaccuracy can make it difficult to get headshots intentionally, though the vertical recoil will usually yield accidental headshots if aiming for the chest or neck. It is also one of the best close range weapons, being the most effective in maps such as Terminal and Rust. Due to its rate of fire, the F2000 burns through magazines and ammunition rather quickly. Unfortunately, it also has a fairly slow reload time. However, the F2000's high rate of fire means that it can be extremely efficient when fired from the hip or at close range targets, as with other high-fire-rate weapons. When paired with Steady Aim, the F2000 becomes a deadly hipfire weapon. When using the F2000, shooting at an opponent's groin in bursts is utilized as a tactic, as its vertical recoil will usually yield headshots or a faster killing rate, especially at longer ranges. It is also recommended by many that players stay in a clear area when reloading as pulling the magazine out and placing it back in takes a considerable amount of time, making Sleight Of Hand an excellent perk to go with it.

AK-47:In contrast to Call of Duty 4, the AK-47 is the last assault rifle to be unlocked; at Commander, Rank 70. For this reason, the weapon is less commonly seen as players tend to enter Prestige Mode. The AK is second only to the TAR-21 in terms of damage per second for assault rifles, doing the same 40-30 damage, but having a slightly lower rate of fire. This makes the AK useful at close, medium, and to an extent, long range. The TAR's higher recoil makes it less useful than the AK at farther range, as the AK-47 has less recoil.
The AK-47 is a unique assault rifle, in the way that when anything is attached (excluding an ACOG scope), idle sway is added, making it the only assault rifle to feature sway, other than those using Thermal. Going prone will reduce sway caused by adding attachments.
