Ok did you do that? Alright let me explain a few things you should know about MW2.


1. It's slower in TDM. Your run and gunning isn't going to help, this is because of how the maps are more vertical meaning. It's not about who is left or right but who might be above or below you shooting.

2. You take up a position and kill people. Yes, you have to camp SOMETIMES. Who ever has the best tactical position wins. Now I know you hate camping, so do I. Though, once you know all the positions you can camp and have an advantage over.

3. You can Run N Gun, that's right only once you have every sweet spot for people to take positions memorized then can you run and gun. If you already have a general gist of where people will be, you already have one step up over them. People don't expect you to turn the corner aim up on the building and fire on them.

This is all about how you move. Running down the streets of Favela is probably going to lead you re spawning. You can't run and gun unless you know the maps and where people are and even so, it's not even really run n gunning more like sweep and clear. You go in one location you check everything and proceed on.

The other thing I notice is people don't like big maps. Well you need to get use to it, you CAN do anything on big maps but you're so stuck on the COD4 medium sized maps that you're simply not use to the size and how to play them, if anyone played World at War then you'll have no problem adapting to the size of the maps. I would gamble that many of you who are having problems right now didn't like WAW multiplayer and returned it. Had you not, you probably would have had most of your skills from both games transfer over with little to no problem.

"Ok, so I got the maps down but I'm still doing pretty bad any tips?"

Even if you know the maps it isn't guaranteed you will be owning everyone left and right here is a few tips that you should keep in mind.

1. Don't shoot if you know you won't hit them.

This is the biggest mistake people do, sometimes you have to let the prey go. You don't get tons of ammo unless you have scavenger and even so there isn't that much ammo to spare. So you only want to shoot at people that you have a 95% of hitting and killing. If someone is going behind a building, don't even shoot all that does is waste ammo and let the enemy know where you're at.

2. Switching to the pistol is the best option for a secondary weapon if you're going to engage people in CQC it pulls out the fastest and is the best defense if you end up running out of ammo when fighting a sniper and you need to get that last shot in. If you know you're going to be swinging in and out of inside buildings, a shotgun is probably more effective. Every-time I enter a building I switch to a shotgun the ranger is further then ever before and it usually kills them with the first shot.

So in short

If you're going to be outside a lot- Use a pistol
If you're going to be inside- Use a shotgun

3. Use your special grenades before you go into a room or around the corner. It's better to have the enemy temporarily stunned then to be fully aware, even if they know you're coming around the corner. Flash and Stuns always give a hit indicator when someone is under the effect so use it to your advantage.
