I've decided to make a guide on all the special grenades and equpiment used in MW2. This guide is ment for people who want to use it, please dont flame, it is unnessessary
Special Grenades
Stun Grenade (Unlocked Lvl 4)
The stun grenade is a usful grenade, usually used around corners or through windows, but will also be used in the open.
The stun grenade will detonate 1 second AFTER hitting the ground. When an opponent is hit by the stun, there movments
and turning ability are slowed down, leaving them very vanurable. The thrower, if within range, will also be stuned, but not
your teammates (unless in hardcore modes) The stun grenade will deal 1 damage when it stuns someone, and 40 for
direct impact. If you are using a riot shield, the effects of the stun are negated, same with Blast Shield. You can have a
maximum of 2 Stun's at one time
Flashbang (Ulocked Lvl 4)
The flashbang is widely used for the same reasons as the stun. The flash will detonate 1 second after being thrown. One
thing is that the flashbang has a slower throw time then the stun, making it less useful it tight situations. Another major
difference is that the opponent is temporarily blinded and deafend, but can still move at the same speed, though they
cannot sprint. This means that the opponent can spray there guna and knife at full speed. The flash will deal 1 damage
with a hit, but only 15 with direct impact. If you are using a riot shield, the effects of the stun are negated. You can have a
maximum of 2 flash's at one time.
Smoke Grenade (Unlocked Lvl 4)
The smoke grenade is probably the most underused special grenade. This grenade can be used to conceal yourself when
rushing through an open area, or with the infamous Thermal Scope. the thermal scope allows you to see through the
smoke, so it can be a useful tool when using a sniper rifle. It can also be used to throw confusions at your enimes. One
tactic is to throw the smoke and one doorway, and enter throught the other doorway, confusing your opponents. It can
also be used to conceal a rushing route on S&

(or other game types). You can only hold 1 of these grenades, and they
only give 15 damage for direct impact.
Equipment
M2 Fragmentation Grenade, or Frag (Unlocked Lvl 4)
The M2 Fragmentation Grenade, or Frag, is a hand-held anti-personal device, mainly used for clearing rooms or
corridoors. The abilty to cook this grenade, allows you can determine when it will explode. This allows for many satisfying
kills, includeing sneaking up on a camper and cooking it until it explodes in your hand, kill yourself and your opponent.
Also, this grenade will bounce off walls and floors, giving it the edge when assulting a room full of enimes, for you dont
have to have a clear line of sight for the doorway. Also, the grenade will roll down sloped surfaces, making it much more
realisitc then in previous games. To use this effectivly, I would advise always cooking the grenade just enough so that it
will explode where you want it to, so it doesnt roll around and maybe only injure your opponent. The damage for getting
hit by one is up to 300, 15 for direct impact.
Semtex (Unlocked Lvl 4)
Semtex...what can I say? It is like the Farg in a few was, but then again it is completly different. The semtex has a set time
to which it will explode, and cannot be cooked. Also, it's fuse is shorter then the Frag, so will explode quicker. Even
though it has the shorter fuse, the Semtex makes beeping noices and has that little red light, making it easy to detect and
avoid. This may allow you to flush enemies out of a desired location, though I usually use it to kill. You can throw it into a
location, and if someone doesnt get out of the way, they can be severly hurt or killed. Also, the Semtex will stick to the
first surface it hit (except glass). This means it will never go past the intended target if thrown correctly. This is useful for
clearing out rooms, or even sticking an unsespecting camper. It is also used by many people as a booster-hunting item. It
is also used against Riot Shields, for it will stick on the shield and kill the person, unless that person is using a Blast Shield,
which they will not be killed. Also, the Semtex has more damage, and a larger blast radius, making it easier to kill people.
It will be used mainly for clearing out a large group of enemies, and maybe pick up the "Group Hug" callenge.
Throwing Knife (Unlocked Lvl 7)
**** yea, the Throwing Knife. This is one of my favorite equipment, and BY FAR the most satisfying kill, throwing a steel
blade into someones throat? for sure. You can only hold one at a time. But, the Throwing Knife does 135 damage,
making it a one-hit kill anywhere on the body. This has caused alot of disscusion between people beliving the knife is over
powered, but thats not was this is about. The Throwing Knife has its goods, and its bads. One good thing is that the
weapon is stealthy, and it doesnt give you warnings like grenades, though it is easy to be heard hitting a surface or flying
past you. This means that even if you miss, you still have time to kill this person before they react. Also, the Throwing
Knife has the ability to bounce of certain surfaces. Though you can only hold one knife at a time, they can be picked up
and re-used. While using the Throwing Knife, you have to take in the fact that it loses usefulness over distance, meaning it
will drop, causing you to have to aim above the opponent from certain distances. It is also difficult to hit a moving target,
for you must aim ahead of them. The throwing knife is widely used by Riot Shielders, for the knife throws fast, allowing
them to expose themselves for a minimal amount of time. It becomes usful in tight situations, or when reloading, due to its
fast throw. It is also widely use in S&

for those sick, game-winning killcams.
Tactical Insertion (Unlocked Lvl 11)
The Tactical Insertion allows you to place your next spawn point wherever it is layed down. This can be extremly useful in
games like Demolition, Sabotage, Headquarter, Capture the Flag, or even Domination to defend an objective. An
opponent is able to destroy your Tactical Insertion by shooting it, blowing it up, or walking over top of it and smashing it.
It renders completly useless in Search and Destroy for it will be destroyed at the end of each round. it can also be used in
a spot that is hard to get to, but it means you have no other equipment, so no Claymores or Grenades. One thing is that a
player using Sitrep will be able to spot you Insertion across the map. It is also always used by boosters so they will spawn
next to each other.
Blast Shield (Unlocked Lvl 19)
The Blast Shield, or the most underused equipment in the game, has its many flaws, but its good points as well. One thing
is that when used, a player cannot see there minimap, HUD, and the edges of theirs screen is blacked out. Some of the
good of it is that it gives a 0.65x damage reduction for explosives, and stuns render useless, but not flashes. This makes it
useful in Headquarters, for there are always those noob-toobers with OMA firing round after round into the HQ. Also, if
used with a Riot Shield, if the Blast Shield is on (to use just press equipment button), and you are stuck by a Semtex, you
will not die. This is very useful confusing enemies when they think the got the forsure kill.
Claymore (Unlocked Lvl 31)
The Claymore, or the most used equipment? I think so, and for good reason. The claymore is a motion activated anit-
personal device usually used in high traffic areas or for defending your flank. When placed, the Claymore has two visible
red lines. When an opponent walks within 192 Inches of these red lines, the less-then-one-second fuse time will go,
blowing up the Claymore. The damage of the Claymore is up to 200, making it quite deadly. Though it is widely used, it is
also used not very efficantly. The best was is to place it back inside a room, so that the red lines dont stick out of the
doorway, so that a player can set off the Claymore without being hurt. This allows the enemy to enter the room, then have
it go off, making it more useful. The Claymore will stay until the player has respawned, meaning when used in S&

, if you
die, it will stay effective the entire round. There are many ways, though, to counter the Claymores abilities. If you use
Scrambler Pro, a Claymores detonation time is increase by 3 seconds, allowing the person to just walk right over it. Also,
a player using Marathon and Lightwieght can run right over the Claymore and be clear of its blast radius (about 6 meters).
They can also be seen by someone using Sitrep, and can be destroyed by bullets or explosives. An enemy may try
shooting the Claymore in attempt to hurt the person who set it up, if they are near by. Also, you can crawl up behind an
Claymore and knife it, and you will not be hurt. Also, a stun of flash grenade will disable them for about 5 seconds, and, if
walked by, will detonate after that time period. You can only hold one Claymore at a time.
C4 (Unlocked Lvl 43)
C4, one of my other personal favorites. Unlike Claymores, C4 is not motion activated, but activated by the user. A player
may throw a C4 into a room. After it is in the room, a player may detonate it (by pressing the equipment button or
double-tapping reload) and the C4 will explode. It is used in Domination very effectivly. A player will place a C4 at the
base an flag they have, and when that voice says "LOSING ALFA!" or something like that, a player will detonate it,
cause mass destrution (well not really, but death is for sure). It will also be used as a trap. It will be placed in an area, and
when a person walks by, it will be detonated. It will also be used in games with bomb sites. A person will throw a C4 on
the bombsite, and when a bomb is planted, they will detonate it. Another tactic, probably the most used, is using a Riot
Shield with Scavneger, Danger Close, and C4. A player will throw the C4 when assulting a building or wait for someone.
They will they detonate it to kill someone. They will then scavenge and pick up a new packet of C4. The C4, like a
Claymore, can be countered by shooting it, using a stun or flash, or blowing it up with a Grenade or C4. But, unlike with
Claymores, if you knife the C4, you will die. They have a deadly 6 meter kill radius, which of course is increased by
Danger Close. You can only carry one C4 at a time
Well there you go, I hope you enjoyed that guide. I didnt really go in-depth about uses and callenges completed, but this was ment to be helpfull for the people who needed it.
thanks iv beast
