Download the files listed below that is the same as the prestige you want to be.

Now that you have downloaded the file and extracted what was inside, transfer the folder entitled "PS3" onto your thumb drive. This folder contains the files you need. Proceed to step two.
Users OUTSIDE of the US:
Your save file is made in a different format than the USA users you must transfer files before moving onto part 2.
First, you must make two offline profiles on Modern Warfare 2, the first called "PRESTIGE" and the second called "ERROR". Now you must quit Modern Warfare 2 and then save the two files onto your thumb drive by going into "Saved Data Utility" on your XMB under the "Games" section.
Now, download the Prestige file you wish to be and then extract the contents, and navigate to PS3/SAVEDATA in the downloaded folder. you will see two files titled "BLUS30377-PROFILEMP-PRESTIGE" and "BLUS30377-PROFILEMP-ERROR_FILE". connect your flash drive to your computer, open it up, and navigate to PS3/SAVEDATA, you should see the two saves that you just created on your PS3. Now, hopefully you named your offline profiles with what i recommended, so all you must do now is take the MPDATA files located within the downloaded saves, and transfer them to the saves on your flash drive.[multipage=The Hack] Now you will start up your PS3, plug in your thumb drive, and then go into "Saved Data Utility" under the "Game" menu in your XMB. Now you must copy your save files from your flash drive onto your PS3 and then boot up Modern Warfare 2 with the current patch installed on your console. Go into the "Multiplayer" menu and load your online stats. Go into split screen and load up the file entitled "PRESTIGE" on one controller and the file entitled "ERROR" on the other. Exit from the message informing you of the error and then go into split screen again. Start up a match with both files loaded and then go back into the XMB. You will be going into your "GAME Data Utility" under the "Game" menu from your XMB. There you will delete the current Modern Warfare 2 patch. Now you must follow the instructions in the Unknown's thread for the patch blocker which will be located here; You must login or register to view this content.
Once finished, boot up Modern Warfare 2 again.
You must now go into multiplayer, click play online, then back out to split screen.
Load the save titled "ERROR" on one controller, (Note: You will get an error, if you didn't you loaded the wrong file.) then go into split screen again. Continue into the lobby on controller 1, and then prestige. After getting another error, go into split screen yet again. Now you will change the profile loaded to the save entitled "PRESTIGE". You WILL NOT get an error. Go to controller 2 and load the "ERROR" save file. Now after getting the error, go into play online. You will see yourself as 9th prestige, level 70. (Or what ever file you chose) Now go into prestige in the barracks and prestige, you will now be level 1, 10th prestige! Now join a game and TADA! It will stick! You just hacked yourself into your desired prestige. Your leader board stats will be the exact same as before![multipage=FAQ] Okay I will answer some Frequently Asked Questions.
Q:Will I keep all my titles and emblems?
A: Yes you will! Absolutely! And you also obtain the prestige emblems/titles.

Q:Will I keep my perks, guns, and camos?
A:In A way, yes, but in a way, no. The reason why is because you will have your classes until level 4, then you will unlock as many classes as your prestige gets, but you must unlock perks/ guns. You will get the perks pro when you obtain them if you had it before the hack and same with weapon attachments/camos but you have to unlock them.

Q:What is a XMB? I noticed you mentioned it a lot in the tutorial.
A:Your XMB is your Cross Media Bar, or XMB for short. And it is what you use to navigate the home menu. You check messages, edit photos, add friends, etc. there.

Q: Did you write this by yourself?
A:Actually I did not, I used -Sesh-'s and The Unknown's guides in this, I just revised -Sesh-'s version to make it easier to navigate.

Oh, trust me, I am sure everyone knows considering this is the.. 5000th guide now?....

You would think the first, easy to read, working prestige hack guide would be enough eh? Also, it was well organized then to..

It logs out, it it normal but it works, I've done it a bunch of times, but it does log out. And as for the internet connecting issue, it happens to me too on different internet connections, I guess it only works for some types of internet connections.

how is this different from all the others, we have 3 different TUTs out there all saying the same thing and then we have the RFOM threads which is basically the same thing but w/ RFOM
