(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}); Before everyone frowns upon this for not being in the Mega Idea thread, there is a reason;
People visiting NGU are not looking at the MEGA thread, because the cant be bothered to read 100+ pages and think it is now a dead discussion.
Whenever I log onto NGU I see that MW2 hacks and PS3 hacks have quite high numbers, people looking for threads about hacks just dismiss the larger ones.
It took Hunter and Unknown several months to figure out how to do this, and lets face it so far, we have failed.
If we all work together and brainstorm ideas, and not flame people who suggest "weird" ideas then we might find the way, after all they only had two brains, and together we have more.

Anyway, we need to think outside the box, So why not start simple and work our way through all of the ideas.
First of all we know the PKG editing is a dead end, as they are signed.
Hunter and Unknown have hacked all of the CoD's so far so they must all have something in common to do with each other, Maybe Lan or game settings, which is what Im now getting onto.

Scratch that v v Thats data injection which is a no go, read a couple of pages to see the map pack theory

Whenever you play CoD you will notice a "Downloading game settings" message, meaning that it is downloading a small file telling our consoles what and what not to do, I think its the GPAD0 file, but im not sure, if anyone knows please correct me, anyway, the file comes from IW net or IW servers, so the game doesn't question if its legit or not.
Anyway people had problems with not being able to get the settings and had to open certain ports, maybe if we setup a PS3 proxy like we did to get the PKG we might be able to monitor incoming data from ports and replace the game settings File with our own.
Discuss, point out flaws, constructive criticism, don't flame, its just a idea out of the box, and tomorrow i will post another idea about LAN.

This post was :jim:. I think that ixfor1234's idea is the best one I've heard so far. It actually sounds like it could be the solution.

Wutz n MW2?
*Sigh*

Guys, please find and read Unkn0wn's final hint.

The process doesn't completely require using a MW2 exploit. It's a PS3 exploit and you use that to gain access to the patch.

"Injection"
"Think outside the box"
"Look up past PS3 exploits"

"Injection" - Injecting a modded patch/codes
"Think outside the box" - Not a game exploit, but system exploit
"look up past PS3 exploits" - see above.

If you really want help, research into libtiff exploits. It is where I'm looking at now, so you may find something, you may not.

BS, Dont you just smell it...

I may have find something, I have no idea if you have tried this or someone else or if it doesnt work, remember that! :P I just want to help.
But anyway, a guy on a site wrote that if he gets a modded patch 1.11 file (pkg), then he would be able to host 10th lobbies (challenge lobbies). Could this work, or is it just crap? Idk xD
another guy said that it is easier to do it than prestige hack.. idk.
Sorry if its old!

So Unkn0wn said to think outside the box. I would also thing it refers to the actual PS3 rather then the game. Seeing many people have looked into straight hacking MW2 by looking for exploits in it, why not indeed look for PS3 system exploits? I think xbox 360 is so hackable due to similar coding to Windows [both by Microsoft] {I could be easily wrong, I don't have an xbox}. So, if its PS3 exploiting, a way to learn is to get a new PS3 [if possible, downgrade patches on one?] and use a proxy to get the link to them, and unpack them. See some past exploits that they have patched up, and go from there. Maybe there is an exploit with the game itself. Outside the box could also mean outside the original game, so patches. Editting the map pack patches could easily work, as when it "reads the HDD" it knows whether or not you have the patch, and whether or not to say "New content available" and, if DLC1/2 is disabled. So, editting the map pack by, again, getting the link for it via proxy and modding it, then reloading it. The problem I see with that though, is actually modding it and reloading it. Both are million dollar questions. Some things in common with all Call of Duty games on the PS3 [just brainstorming] is that they all have multiplayer, some sort of offline multiplayer, access the HDD, and have all had DLC. Accessing multiplayer, I wouldn't think, would have an exploit. However, directly reading the DLC to load into the game [which include patches] seems probable. Maybe there are possible exploits when it comes to linking a PSP to a PS3, like changing what is synced to it [to sync what you want rather then music, demos, games, etc.] Maybe the XMB is exploitable all its own? Since, obviously, the game reads from the HDD, the easiest golden road to cracking this would be to find what on the HDD the game lists as safe, and finding a way to mod it. If its in .PKG files, then all it takes [though no simple task] is to find the way they encrypted it, and to decrypt and de-pack it for modding. Keep all information you use to decrypt and de-pack, and reverse the steps to pack it back up. Then, use a proxy to change the patch's download location to from your computer. Yes, this would require to re-mod it every time a patch is released, but, if it can be done once, it can certainly be done again. Either patches or map packs, its up to everyone to decide which to explore and attempt exploitation from first.

Just typing my thoughts.
