With TheUnkn0wn's recent bit of advice, and going through several older threads I came across this quote from hunter:

Maybe there is an exploit or something within the music tab on the PS3 menu.

I don't know if this seems logic, or if it has been posted before. But it has been dwelling on my mind for quite a while, and I thought it was time to share my thoughts.

I believe it has something to do with an earlier FW exlploit, and regarding what Hunter stated (which is in my first post) it has something to do with modded patch files.

The question is, as always has been, what to do with these modded patch files.

People get off of Geohotz 'hack'. It leads to nothing. He has even said that himself.

Over half of everything geohotz said was even proven fake. (I'm not posting links to prove. If you think they all are real you need to research. Most of his stuff was fake.).

ffs the 'music' file is what is used as a exploit when encrypting and decrypting the hd...

Yes, but there is a difference between theories and spouting off the first thing that comes to mind.

With even just a little look into the HDD decryption method, you would have seen what Hunter was talking about, and would have known that it was part of the decryption process. Your research wasn't thorough, it was hasty and biased. Without leaving the loop, there is no progression.



So, let me get this straight, you knew there were dedicated threads, and yet, you posted a new thread for it? Because you wanted it to be seen, right?

Think about this for a minute: In a situation like this, everyone is trying to figure this out as soon as possible. The first person to release it to the public becomes famous, a celebrity. So, instead of posting the theories in the theory thread, the ideas are strewn all about the forums, because everyone thinks their ideas need to be recognized, because their ideas are better than everyone else's. Exactly why does your idea deserve it's own thread? Who is finding themselves superior now? (I would insert the clapping smiley here, but personally, I can't stand it when someone else does it to me, so here, have a pedo bear) :pedo:

Also, you do realize that you're not only insulting a member who donated to the site, but you are insulting them BECAUSE they donated to the site, don't you?

And I really doubt he's looking to merely get an extra post. Some users are getting annoyed at all of the hastily thrown together "theories" that are cluttering up these forums. Granted, the comment was off topic, but it was better than creating another thread for it, wasn't it?
