Steps:

Step 1: Get you friends in to the main lobby

Step 2: Go in to a Ground War (Everyone needs to be in party chat or on the phone)

Step 3: Have your host backout of the game, and everyone else should prepare to backout by scrolling over the option "Yes" in the leave game menu

Step 4: The host should now prepare to go into a free for all and the host should scroll over free for all.

Step 5: Have your host count down from 10 into their mic, and as soon as he reaches zero the host should click free for all and all of the player should click yes on the leave game menu.

Much easier to just join session, and it's old...

Easy way to do this is

Upload a youtube video
Search for a FFA
Once your searching get your friends to join your session
Once everyone is in Cancel the upload.

Posted before. Also if you sign out when your all in, then sign back in after you have chose your class the lobby locks
