Introduction:

Hey guys, I've decided to make a guide about my favorite LMG, the RPD.The RPD is unlocked at level 4, and it is one of the most powerful guns in the game. It is accurate, powerful, and it has a decent rate of fire, not to mention the iron sights are awesome. In this guide, I will be discussing what attachments and perks to use with this gun, strategies, and some class setups.Hope you enjoy!

Attachments:

Grip:10 kills
Grip is a great attachment for this gun, if not the best.It reduces the recoil greatly and makes the gun more accurate. 9/10

Red dot sight:25 kills
Red dot sight is a waste of an attachment, in my opinion, as the iron sights are awesome and one could use a much more useful attachment. 3/10

Silencer:75 kills
The silencer is decent if you don't want to be found easily, it is pretty effective when you use bling and put on the silencer and grip. 6/10

ACOG scope:150 kills
Not so great. This scope is trash on LMG's and again, there are better attachments out there.Only use this to unlock thermal. 3/10

FMJ:300 kills
Use this if you find yourself constantly getting hit markers before your enemy goes behind cover. 7/10

Holographic Sight:60 kills while looking through the RDS
See red dot scope. 4/10

Heartbeat Sensor:15 kills while using the silencer
Good when you need to clear a building or you find yourself on a mad dash to find the last guy alive in SnD (this seems to happen to me alot), although many people use ninja nowadays. 6/10

Thermal:20 kills while looking through the ACOG scope
Believe it or not, this is great. It makes the RPD an automatic sniper rifle and actually beats most regular snipers in a long distance battle. 8/10

Extended mags:40 kills through a surface while using FMJ
This is not needed at all, 200 bullets is plenty to last you a game. 3.5/10

Perks:

Sleight of Hand: This is great for the RPD, as it has a very long reload time.Pro ability is excellent, it gives you that boost you need when your in a 1 vs 1 situation. 7.5/10

Bling: Pretty good perk, here are some combinations of attachments that are effective: Grip + Heartbeat sensor, Grip + Thermal, Grip + Silencer, Grip + FMJ. 7.5/10

Stopping Power: Awesome perk, but it's not necessarily needed. 8/10

Cold-Blooded: This is what you should use if you don't want stopping power, it is efficient because it makes you invisible from UAV,air support, thermal, and sentries. 6.5/10

Steady Aim: Awesome if you find yourself in one of those "spray n' pray" situations, the pro ability is good too if your using the grip + thermal combo. 7.5/10

Ninja: Most people think they're safe when their heartbeat sensor doesn't pick anything up. This'll prove them wrong. 7.5/10

Strategies

Strategy one:
So,basically, this strategy is locking down a high traffic part of the map and setting up a claymore to guard your weak side. This is NOT camping, as the part of the map should be fairly large and you should be moving, Example: House in Estate, cliff in Afghan, etc.

Strategy two:
Another strategy that's decent is to go to high traffic areas, get a few kills there, and move on to another high traffic area. It's good to have atleast three and keep switching after you get two or three kills. The difference between this and strategy one is that strategy one is having ONE high traffic area and just changing your spot a little, like where bomb B is in afghan, there are lots of rocks you can climb onto and you can switch rocks every now and then. Strategy two is moving between a few large areas.

Strategy three:
This strategy consists of putting thermal on your RPD and going to a good sniping spot. Then sniping like you regularly would, but instead with an automatic sniper rifle.

Class setups:

Class one:
Primary: RPD with Grip
Secondary: Any
Equipment: Any
Special grenade: Any
Perk one: Sleight of hand
Perk two: Stopping power
Perk three: Steady aim
Useful with: Strategy one or two

Class two:
Primary: RPD with Silencer (If you have bling, then silencer and grip)
Secondary: Any
Equipment: Any
Special grenade: Any
Perk one: Bling or Sleight of hand
Perk two: Stopping power or Cold blooded
Perk three: Ninja
Useful with: Strategy one

Class three:
Primary: RPD with thermal ( If you have bling, then thermal and grip)
Secondary: Any
Equipment: Any
Special grenade: Any
Perk one: Bling or Sleight of hand
Perk two: Stopping power
Perk three: Steady aim (pro)
Useful with: Strategy three

Conclusion:

Yeah, that's my guide, I don't really know what else to explain, but yeah, hope you guys enjoyed, and remember: This is mostly MY OPINION.

yea sorry i meant its iron sight is most accurate to me. but u need to have grip attatched in order for it to not going crazy. i use mostly fmj more than a silencer on a lmg when its unlocked. i probably get the most fmj kills with a lmg like the rpd. i rarely use it on smg and snipers.

oh ok, i was wondering Happy

Error… Cat invasion!
RPD is still one of my fave (distance map) guns since COD4.
I always play HC and I can aim this faster than a sniper. 1 shot distance kill looks good on the kill cam.

Never tried the thermal.. Probably because I always play HC.
But from what I've learned about the RPD... Your tut is spot on! :bro:

For sure man. And since it is so powerful it allows you to use other secondary perks other then stopping power which is awesome.

Also good to see people with a stinger taking down air support.Smile

That is similar to what I use to rock out with but instead of those 3rd perks you mentioned I was a noob and use to use last stand. Happy

Not anymore but I use to rock out with it. :embarrassed:

Alright well thanks for the feedback, a guide is not for everyone. I mean some people are going to appreciate while others are not, and that is fine.

I just posted it here to hopefully help others become better when they use the RPD.
