Gaming tips for MW2 (basic)
Ok people so this is a quick tip guide to help you and your gaming experience in Call of Duty, these are pretty basic but i'm sure there are people that would appreciate these.

Have Fun!
Always remember to have fun. Don’t stress about things like your Kill/Death ratio. Even pros have their bad games. If you lighten up you’ll enjoy the game a lot more and isn’t that what it’s all about?
Hit and Miss
If you hit someone but don’t finish them off before they get out of your view turn back and hide. Don’t chase them because odds are there going to being sitting behind a corner waiting for you to come after them.
Aim Your Airdrops
If you’re using an emergency airdrop(4 drop crates) you can avoid any going in inaccessible areas by remembering that the plane will fly in the same direction you are looking when you throw the smoke and the first lands exactly on the smoke.
Learn the Map
If you’re new to the game give yourself sometime to learn the map. You might even benefit from making a private game and free-roam, just to get a feel for it. Once you know where to look for people and where to hide you’ll be a much better player.
Don’t Camp
Camping is generally not a good idea in the Call of Duty games because of the killcam. People are going to figure you out sooner or later. If you must camp find a couple spots and move between the two.
Keep Track of Challenges
A good way to rank up is to have at least 3 challenges to work at as you play each game. An example would be ranking up a gun, a perk, and also trying things like surviving the entire game for a specific challenge.
Don’t Spray and Pray
It’s never a good idea to hold down the trigger and let loose. That goes for any FPS video game. You’ll end up missing way too much. Shoot in bursts. Be persistent in training yourself to only tap the trigger and not hold it down. It takes time and patience but you’ll get it and you’ll be that much closer to a better gamer.
Anti-Killstreak Class
Use one of your custom classes to make an anti-killstreak class. Such as: a launcher (stinger) for shooting down aircrafts and the cold-blooded perk so they won’t shoot at you.
Only Current Killstreak Rewards Count Towards Killstreak
Meaning if you get a predator missile and use it right away to get your 6th kill, it will count towards your current killstreak. But if you get your predator missile, die and then use it in your next life, it does not count towards your killstreak.
- Airdrop Killstreak Rewards Don’t Counter Towards Your Killstreak
- Sentry Guns Won’t Shoot You With Cold-blooded On
You Can Shoot Down UAVs
If you look up in the sky from time to time you’ll see a plane flying around. It’s either a UAV or counter-UAV. Shoot them down for points and for ranking up cold-blooded.
Switch Your Class
If you’re looking to rank up faster never play with the same guns and perks. Try new ones and complete their challenges.
Change Game Modes
The same goes for game modes. Not only will they help you rank up faster but playing a wider range of game modes will make you a better all around player. Not too mention certain game modes can offer better experience.
Get Aircrafts to Shoot Your Shield
This is a good way to get the aircraft to focus fire on you while a teammate shoots it down. You also get points for taking the damage.
Keep Your Ears Open
Try not to talk as much as possible in order to hear all possible actions taking place around your location. This is especially good for objective based games such as Search and Destroy. Be alert and be listening for noises such as:
- Enemy Footsteps: If you hear footsteps in your vicinity, quickly glance at the mini-map if you are able to quickly determine if you have any teammates nearby. If not, then watch out, you have company.
- Killstreak’s Being Activated: When someone calls in a UAV you can hear the click of them doing so, sometimes you can even locate them by following the sound.
- Silenced Weapons: Yes, you can hear silenced weapons, they’re faint but the noise is there. It’s also hard to find your enemy because it hides their muzzle flash. You’ll have to take cover and try to figure out where he is by knowing the map.
Armored Aircrafts and Non-Armored Aircrafts
Some aircrafts have flares that will make your launcher missiles miss. Pavelows and Chopper Gunners have 1 and AC-130s have 2. Harriers, Attack Helicopters, UAVs and Counter-UAVs have no flares, thus making them killable with one missile.
Get Them To Come To You
Sometimes it’s not such a bad idea to fire off a couple bullets to get someone’s attention. They’ll usually come looking for that red dot on the map. This can work out well if you’re in a good spot. It’s also good if you’ve got C4 or claymores planted. You can also pull people out by drawing fire. Run back and forth from your hiding spot and you should get some fire. That way you can figure out where they are. Of course you’ll have to be fast for this and it won’t always work out. Also once the enemy comes you can always go into cover and pop back out to kill them since most of the time they won't be expecting this.
