Modern Warfare 2 is shunned upon by other gamers because of the amount of lone wolves who play the game. The main topic I will stress throughout the guide is that you must use team work if you want to win. Honestly this is what it boils down to. The team who works best together, and helps each other out will always be victorious. A rag tag team of lone wolves will NEVER beat a team built by teamwork.

First thing you want to do is find a group of friends you communicate best with and pick a gametype that is best known by the majority of the group. If your favorite gametype is Domintation, but nobody on you team has a clue how to play, then do not pick it. This is one lesson you will need to learn in order to be sucsessful, its not about you, its about your team. So now suppose each member in your team is a regular player for Demolition, but you are a bit unfamiliar with it, your team will still benifit more by playing this gametype although you may not be a pro at it. Still if this is unclear, think of it like this. You have a team of 6 athletes, 5 Professional football players, and a swimmer. Clearly this team would be more sucsessful when playing football.

Next on the list would be your gameplay. OK so now you have your team, but that doesnt mean anything unless you know how to play as a team. Some of the key elements to team gameplay would be : Informing teammates of enemy locations, coming to teammates aid, traveling in groups, and most importantly...establishing roles. Now a few of these elements maybe unclear as to what they mean and entitle, so Ill explain a bit more.
Informing teammates of enemy locations - Basically what this does is helps your team eliminate enemys quicker and more efficiantly. Suppose you've been killed by someone camping an alleyway. Dont let you teammates make the same mistake as you, Tell them where the enemy is so they can help kill him before he further devistates your team
Coming to teammates aid - This one is very simple, a teammate needs help...you help them, very simple concept. Lets say a teammate is pinned down by several enemys at an entrance, while they are distracted you can easily flank them. If a teammate is in a final stand, it doesnt take much effort to cover them until they can stand back up and continue fighting.
Traveling in groups - A group of teammates can lead to one of two things. Either it leads to the enemy racking up a double or even triple kill, or it could lead to utter sucsess on the battle field. The key to traveling in groups is to watch several locations at once. A team should never be flanked if you use this tactic correctly. Another tip for this would be not to travel to close to teammates, the tighter a group is the easier it is to get a multikill. Instead spread out a bit and make the enemy actually shoot each player individually.
And of course the most important
Establishing positions - Basically what this means is that each player has a role on the battlefield. Suppose we were playing capture the flag, you would assign each play a role in the game. Rather than having 6 players charge the flag at once, set up positions to help a teammate capture the flag. Maybe place two players in the middle of the map to provide cover to the flag carrier, and help control enemy traffic. Maybe place a teammate or two at your flag to help reduce the number of times your flag can be grabbed. And of course a player to grab the enemy flag and capture it.

Extra notes
-If you cannot get a team together, work with the people in the lobby.
-Never mute people on your team, no matter how annoying, they may be able to help contribute to the team

Well NGU, there you go. A complete guide for utter sucsess. Follow this guide and you will find the game more enjoyable because of the amount of wins you will gather.

And finally I would just like to say any nominations, thanks, or rep+'s are always appreciated. This guide did take a while to type

Playing with a full party gives you a full advantage especially if everyone has Microphones and tells the rest of party where hes seen somebody running/camping etc..

Teamwork..
