1. An modified patch doesn't work because of the checksums ?

2. Is it possible to change an PKG file ? <- this is the patch right ?

3. Well.. i first need these two questions answered before i can post my third question..

1: Right
2: All files downloaded onto the PS3 are .PKG files, so yes.

You can brute the checksums.

1. so when you modify an patch the .self file checks the patch on what?

2. All files download on the ps3 are pkg so that means the .self file is inside that .pkg?

the .self file is on the disc mitself it stops any scripts in the ff file inside the pkg file so if we somehow bypass the .self file then mw2 is hacked

1. yeh the .selfs basically the failsafe and gets rid of unusual scripts
2. the .selfs located on the eboot.bin (game disc), so basically no way of modding it, the way people are looking at now is bypassing it.

okay if you say the eBoot.Bin is on the game disc how come the Patch_Mp on the game disc and also on the Patch.Pkg ?
i think that the eBoot.Bin default_Mp.self and Patch_mp.FF are also on the patch
