(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}); This guide I made can help you get more 'kills' (if that's what you are obsessed about) without camping and wrecking games. If you learn to play the game correctly, you can help your teammates, win the game...AND still get your kills.

Thanks If you feel the need to.

IDIOT'S GUIDE TO PLAYING DOMINATION

[multipage=How the game works]

1. You win the game by controlling a set of three flags. Every five seconds, the game gives a team 1pt for each flag it holds. So if your team holds a flag for a minute....your team will have 12pts. Your team holds two flags for a minute, you get 24pts (2 flags x 12 pts = 24pts), while the opponent would be getting 12 pts over that time span. Keep that 2 to 1 advantage for another minute, your lead increases to 48 to 24. Maintain that 2-1 adv for another two minutes....through four minutes of the game, your lead will now be 96 to 48. First team to get to 200 pts wins.

So it goes without saying, you need to keep two of three flags under your control. Do that to win. If you maintain that 2 to 1 advantage the entire game, the game will end 200-100 and end in 8 1/2 minutes. The shortest possible game is 200-0 (yes, I have won a few) and that lasts 5 1/2 minutes.

2. The game ends at 200.

[multipage=How to Play]

STEP 1. Your team will start near a Flag (usually the A or the C flag) at the edges of the map. At the start, you have one simple move that can net you 150xp with no effort. Cap that nearest A (or C) flag. Done. This is the move you should do.

STEP 2. Remember. In Domination, the more people around the flag, the less time you have to stand there capping it. If it's just you capping the flag, it takes around six seconds to get. If all six of you are getting it, the time is dropped down to like 2 seconds. Lesson? Work together. You spend less time being a target. So at the start of the game, everyone go grab the nearest flag. It's a win/win for all. Note - Do not go hiding(ie, camping) behind your nearest flag. This is a duchebagging move and makes you a dicckhead. READ that again a few more times if you are even considering it.

STEP 3. Your next move is simple. Go head towards the f***ing B flag. Got it? That isn't hard is it?

Now...there are two strategies while doing the above.

[multipage=Strategy 1 and 2]
Bumrush the B flag and get it before your opponents get there. That's easy. Run like hell to it and cap it. I usually start off every game with the Lightweight/Marathon class to grab the B flag and then switch classes later. This usually works because most opponents (and teammates for that matter) are assclowns and they will be off hiding. So 7 out of 10 times, if you head straight towards the B flag, you will cap it, especially if your teammates help. More later on why this is so important.

- Strategy 2.... If you playing smart opponents, on some maps, you will just be on the wrong side and simply not be able to get to B first. This brings up the second initial B Flag strategy. Head towards B, but don't bumrush the flag. Head instead around or towards the perimeter, sneak around..... and get the other team while they cap it. Shoot their two or three guys grabbing it. Then YOU go get the flag. SubBase is an example of this. If you start on the A Flag side, no matter how fast you move, the other team has a shorter distance and will be there first (if they are playing smart).

Either way, with either strategy (Bumrush or wait)....at some point, you need to go get B. That is your priority. Will you probably get killed? Yes, you might. You might die a few times. Does that suck for getting killstreaks and keeping your oh-so-important KD ratio? Yes, it hurts those things. So why should you still grab B and die? Read a few paragraphs down

Additional thoughts on the above. Advanced Strategies. At times, a case could be made for NOT grabbing that nearest C or A flag. And instead, sprint right towards the B flag. This is kind of an alternate strategy. On some maps, skipping Step 1 and instead going to Step 2 (the B flag) is pretty valid. You can shave about 3 to 5 seconds of time off. And if you sprint towards B, bumrushing it, you can get a pretty big jump on the other team. This works pretty well too. Our team will oftentimes just send one guy to the nearest flag...and then the other five guys run to B. Once there, maybe three cap the flag and the other two run PAST the flag, throwing smoke and flashes to disrupt the other team. Either way, once again,...same goal. GET 'B'.

[multipage=STEP 4.]
IMPORTANT LESSON TO LEARN - As much as it may pain you to grab the B flag (and probably die) getting that two to one B flag advantage will make your life A LOT easier later on in the game. So you might die early....but it will help get kills later. Winning the objective creates killing opportunities. This is a lesson oh so many teenie dumbasses just don't get. Why? Because controlling flags controls spawn points.

Let me state this again.... "controlling flags controls spawn points"

Do you get that? Understand this. If your team controls two flags, that means the opponents spawning spots are now reduced to an area in size of about 1/4 of the map. You know where those pesky opponents will be coming from. That's a HUGE advantage. The opposite is true too. If you are losing and have one flag....the other team has about 2/3rd of the map to spawn out of. You know less of where they are. It's harder for you. Got it? Read that again. You control the spawn situation, it's like having a permanent UAV up in the air. Most players don't grasp this key point.

[multipage=STEP 5]
. Winning the game. Maintain two flags during the game. Do not try and grab a third (unless of course it's garbage time and you want to end the blowout) That's it. Pretty simple, isn't it? More so, don't even go close to that third flag. Keep a safe distance from it, because if you get to close, you will scatter that opponent team's spawn points all over the map. That is not good. Remember the 4th step up there? You will end up probably giving them two flags within the next 30 seconds or so.

[multipage=STEP 6]
. Camping. Here's the deal. Domination is a game of camping AND attacking. As far as the infamous 'Camping'...it's a good thing Domination, WHEN you are in the lead. Ahead on points or you have that 2 to 1 lead in flags. Make sense? If you have that one flag advantage, feel free to camp the B flag to your heart's content. Set traps. Work corners. Peek out of windows. Plant claymores. As long as you have that 2 to 1 lead in flags, camp away. In most games, it's usually best to leave 2 guys at your back flag, and leave around 3 around the B flag. My clans then like to have that sixth teammate sort of running around behind the other team (but note...never ever getting to close or behind their flag, this wrecks the spawn points).

When is camping not good? When you lose that 2 to 1 flag lead. The other team will be scoring more points than you. Obviously, if you have a 150 to 32 lead....then you don't have to sweat things. But if the game is close, you lose the B flag....it's time to get off your camping asss and starting capping another flag.
[multipage=STEP 7]

.- KEY...KNOW THE 'TYPE' OF MAP YOU ARE ON. In Domination, you need to learn, over time, to recognize which maps the B flag is more critical than others. Recognize which maps the B flag is more critical on. The B flag on a map like Rundown is 100x more important than on Wasteland. This is due to some maps being more circular than linear. Circular maps tend to have the B flag change hands a bit more. Linear maps, the B flag is harder to take.

Linear Maps - The B flag is critical. Example. 'SubBase'...the control of the B flag is HIGHLY critical. It doesn't swap out or change sides much. If the other team has it, it's VERY hard to get back. So with this particular map, you have to control it, right away. This has to be done. The team that gets it (if people are playing right) usually wins most of the time. I've seen entire games go by with the other team not even getting it!! These are the 'critical B flag' maps - Sub Base, Estate, Derail, Skidrow, Favela, HighRise, Invasion, Quarry, Karachi, RunDown, Crash, Storm, and Bailout (13 maps in all)

Circular Maps - Some maps, the B flag isn't so critical. These are more circular. People tend to rotate around the maps, just swapping flags. If you lose B, no big deal. You don't necessarily 'need' the B flag to win. You can go a length of time winning with the A and C flags. An example here might be Wasteland. If you don't get the B flag... You can still win with the A and C. Examples of these maps include: Wasteland, Underpass, Afghan, Scrapyard, Terminal (actually, the B map is the bad map on this board) Salvage and Overgrown (7 maps in all)

Learn the above. The second set, the circular boards....they tend to swap out flags a bit more. The B flag isn't critical. In fact, in some of the maps, it's the bad flag to have. A good example of this is Terminal. The B flag actually traps your team outside the terminal. It's actually much better to have A and C. Regardless, because the map is circular, you'll probably see all the flags changing hands more so than other linear maps.

[multipage=OTHER STRATEGIES:]

STEP 8.1 STRATEGY 1....If you are playing even halfway decent opponents, find yourself down two flags to one, you probably will not be able to get the critical B flag (on the linear maps) by yourself. It's just to hard. Like on 'RunDown'. Try as you may, if the other team knows what they are doing, you just won't be able to sit on B flag, on that bridge, for the six seconds needed to cap it. You need teammates to help, dropping the wait time down to 2 to 3 seconds. Now...'if' you find the B flag to hard to get...try pulling the opposing team's campers off of B. How? Circle around and grab their back side flag. Force them to move. Once they go to recapture their flag....then go get B. This is a time-tested, solid strategy.

STEP 8.2 STRATEGY 2....Smoke is always your friend when getting the flags. Equip it. Snipers and campers can't see you to shoot you. And if you have a teammate helping you, their shooting time will drop to a few seconds. So throw some smoke. What helps here too is that most of your opponents will be limp wristed camping douchebags who fuss about their KD. If you throw smoke...they won't risk coming out of their spots to get you.

STEP 9.0 GOLDEN RULE (the dont's)....

a. No one gives a crap about you getting a nuke. That doesn't help your teammates. Yes, if you are really good, it might work one of ten games, but thats still not a very successful strategy. Where you do nothing to help anyone and 10% of the time get a nuke. It blows losing the other 90% of the time. And worse yet...if everyone tanked a game like you do with the nuke strategy, farm kills in the back, the losing rate would be 100%.

b. No one gives a Mod Eit about your lame'nuke-getting' video you are making. Where you hide in the back of the map farming kills, while your teammates die getting the flags. Well, scratch that. I suppose that fat asss Jeff West loves that stuff (he made the game like that), but 95% of the good players don't. It ruins games.

It is well done and well intentioned but pointless for pub matches.
Good clans play this way but if only 4 freinds are online you can't get the Fn noobs to listen.
They always want the points for a capture or push the spawn.
Domination and HQ are the best games to take a lead early and spend the rest of the game racking up kills, but only with a TEAM and that does not exist in pub matches.
