Well it is a no luck for a lot of people. Not just you.
Just get another ps3 on FW3.41 or lower...if its lower update it to 3.41.
Not hosting challenge lobbies isn't the end of the world. I used to host and it isn't CRAZZYYY fun. Just a world of spam.
