firmware is stored in the nand memory dude. 100% on 60gb. 60% on the hdd for 40/80gb fats 100% on slims.

The Flash memory(NAND) and not the HardDrive not to sure how to dig around in the Flash memory, and if you do, and begin to mess around with the wrong things you may end up destroying your Ps3

PS3 is Pretty much destroyed dad ripped out disk drive because game was stuck so do u have any idea How to like remove it?

look at the data sheets. on the 40 and 80 some firmware blocks are stored at start of drive.

you can remove the nand(s) dependent on model with a hot air station. and theres readers avalible. pretty pointless tho. you can also have an infectus modchip installed. ppl say it dont work now. but it does edit *it was patched for backing up/flashing firmware but sti;ll good for having a nosey around the ram ;-)
