Alright so here's my question: If I format my HDD on my PS3 and then try to install 3.41 firmware onto to it via USB, will it install?
I am going to be more elaborate than that when I actually do it though.
So basically I want to know if I completely wipe my hard drive, then I should be able to put whatever version of firmware that I want to put on it right?
Well first off I'm going to backup all of my data onto a 1.5TB external HDD, then format PS3, then do several methods of trying to install another firmware.
But, if anyone has already tried thi, than please tell me if it works or not. Thanks.
Nope im afraid that wont work. Part of the latest firmware is stored on your NAND
when you try to update to 3.41 it wont reconise and tell you to update to latest firmware
Ah ok thanks for telling me. I'm still going to try though. And if from a first-hand experience I know that it doesn't work, then I'll have to wait until a JB for 3.50 comes out...
I just wanted to confirm again for anyone who may have seen this thread that it is indeed impossible and advise that no one should try doing it.
You're wasting your time.
