The first time I tried it, I got an error and it had to re-format my online hard-drive, so my online ps3 has nothing except one account I just made and my friends still has everything and the modded patch.
when I try to use the '
ata Transfer Utility' now, I set up the 3.41 to transfer to the 3.50, then I switch over to the 3.50's HDMI and set it up to recieve it, but all it says is "please wait" and when I switch back to the 3.41 it says:an Ethernet cable is not connected or the other PS3 is not turned on
When CLEARLY they are both connected and turned on, I've tried 3 different Ethernet cables, and it's not working, I don't want to have to come this far to give up.
Could I use the 'Backup Utility' and save the modded patch from the 3.41 to an external hard drive and restore it on the 3.50???
Please help me?

Also make sure you put in the ethernet cable before you turned on both PS3s, and keep trying. It may take more than 1 time (happened to me)
Also is your ethernet cable the normal blue one? If not get one.

I had the same problem mate! I sorted it out.
a) when you plug in the cable do it when they both turned of at the back.
b) get your 3.41 to the bit were it has a picture of the wire (the last bit on 3.41) and dont press x.... Switch to other TV do everythng on tht and as soon as u do everything on tht press X as fast possible on remote for 3.41!

This works 100% (This is assuming your 3.41 has patch on it)
1 - Turn OFF the 3.50 PS3
2 - Now go to data transfer on 3.41 Go all the way. It will say to swap to other PS3 on TV
3 - Now turn ON the 3.50 PS3. Go to data transfer to accept it.
It will take it then.
Mine does the same thing as yours.

Sorry, but try to be a little bit more clear on the steps, I went all the way on the 3.41 and then turned on the 3.50 and accepted it, and it said it needed to be reformatted to recieve the data, but when it did it looked like it was trying, but on the 3.41 it said there was an error.
