Okay, if your friend transfers the information from his PS3 onto your PS3, Your data will be formatted, and his data will be on your PS3. His data will NOT be erased, only yours!

But, when i clicked "transfer data utility" it says "the PS3 That transfers Data will be erased, and you wqill recieve the data" But i think i may have read it wrong lol let me go and check, and what do u want CL Or $10 ??

Make sure you aren't doing it backwards. Make sure that your transferring the data to the right PS3.

The PS3 that is receiving the data will be formatted and it will basically look the same as the other PS3 it received data from.

The PS3 that is transferring the data will probably warn you that the data on the other PS3 will be formatted, maybe thats what you saw.

just tell your friend too back up all his data, then do a data transfer from his ps3 too yours, and once its done he can restore his ps3 with the back up data
