get the patch you want to use and then you have to put it into the correct folder which is /dev_hdd0/game/blus30377/USDIR/ and replace patch_mp.ff

^^What he said. And BTW, do not update because then you wont be able to ever switch patches. Your best bet is to get another PS3 and transfer all the data from the 3.41 one to the 3.55 one.
