I have 1PS3
A hard dive with 3.55
Another hard drive with 3.50

anyway I can swap hard drives without it asking me to update it to
3.55?

please no flaming, Is it that hard not to?

Simple Answer the hard drivers have nothing to do with you being on 3.55 or 3.50... your ps3 system is the one with the firmware not the hard drives

When u change the HDD it don't have to be updated, the hard drive is diferent of the version u have the firmware is in the NAND and the files are in the HDD.

so can I just swap back my old HDD and still use it even if my ps3 is 3.55?

Yes, i recommend you to downgrade and hack your ps3 but you are free to decide. You might format it first (The PS3 will ask you IDK)

alright thanx man, so once I swap the my current HDD to my old one I can just downgrade my old one to 3.41?

You can downgrade in 3.50 PS3

Iknow but what Im trying to explain is that on my current HDD I updated to 3.55 and the last time I used my old HDD was when 3.50 was out

Firmware is not on the HDD.
So in short, no you cant downgrade.
Once you updated to 3.55, theres no going back.
