if that ps3 is below 3.41 (ex:3.15) then yes just use google, search for
PS3 Firmware 3.41 download and their are alot of guides on installing it, and yes you can jailbreak it after you install it

Thanks so much . I can't seem to find a tutorial on how to install the firmware though. Should I just use a regular USB Flashdrive?

Yes just a normal USB make a folder on the usb PS3 and inside the PS3 folder make a folder named UPDATE and put the fw update in that make sure you name the folders in CAPS here is a link for fw download

Thanks man. So I make a folder on the USB and title it UPDATE? Then I just install it onto my ps3 right ?

what you do is get a regular USB

Inside of it make a folder named PS3 (must be caps)>inside the PS3 folder make one name UPDATE (also caps) in it just put the PS3UPDAT.PUP in it (i think thats what is called)

Then on you ps3 go to Update>Storage Media>let it load>update

Hey everyone. I got the lobby going but I was wondering. I wanted to go online with it (private match PSN) but the data transfer utility didn't seem to be working. How have any of you went online? Did you just update your jailbroken PS3 or did you transfer it through a DTU? If you did transfer it through DTU can you please explain how ? Thanks.
