(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}); Ok yesterday I tried the Map Packs via the CFW. They installed fine however It still said that I didn't have the map packs installed. The reason for this is activation via the PSN store.

However different games have different activations. Upon researching more on this I noticed something. The activation is also done via a PKG file.

When we download the map packs the activation pkg file is installed to verify that the maps are downloaded legit. The Activation PKG can be found via the PS3 Proxy server.

I can't get hold of that link as I haven't bought the map packs, only people who purchased can.

If anyone can get hold of that activation pkg file link, then that would = free map packs.

Activation for regions is different I think?

lol i know they need to be activated first. But what i said is that the activation is done via a PKG File also. We just need to get hold of that file.

its a act.dat file that get overwrittin so wait for a ftp server for the cfw and then you can get free map packs by copying someone else act.dat or adding the line if you know it to your own act.dat

The activation pkg file creates the act.dat.

also picking on what you said about act.dat and how you can copy other peoples folder to your ps3 and use it, indicates that there may not be a unique activation.

i am sorry cause the act.dat happened to me

when i had a 3.41 there was a file called act.dat i didn't give a shit about it and i transfer the maps to my friend who was 3.41 we both had Jb and what i noticed that when in jailbreak mode it bypass the requirement of act.dat when not in jailbreak mode you cant see the maps
so i copied my act.dat to his ps3 and it worked

and since you found an actvation pkg it maybe GAME specific not map packs but i am not sure about anything anymore

there is a activation pkg for all files (games, demos etc). There was a little trick years ago which allowed you to installed PSN games via the PC but sony fixed it. Now every file is done via activation.
