First, what you need is a usb stick, or anything that can transfer files from your pc to anything else.

Now, for the good part. Plug your Flash into your pc, and turn your playstation on. You will now need to download this custom Firmware onto your usb flash.

Now, on your flash, make a Folder name PS3 and another inside of that folder called UPDATE. (Make sure these are in all caps!) And place the PS3UPDAT.PUP file in the UPDATE folder.

Now, plug your Usb into your PS3 and go to system update. It will say from internet or from Storage media. Update this from Via Storage Media and BE patient while it downloads.

Next, you will need to download this onto your usb flash, this file is from geohot.

Extract the file from the jailbreak folder and you will now have one in this folder called "PS3UPDAT.PUP" And now place the jailbreak folder inside the UPDATE folder.

Now, Connect the Usb flash to your ps3, and go to System Update. Now, select "Via Storage media" and you should now see "3.55-JB. Make sure there is a JB! Or else, this will not work! Down load this Update onto your ps3 and do not shut it off! And, it should beep while turning off.

When it is completely off, turn it back on and go to your game column on your ps3. There will be a new selection called "Install Package Files" This is what our custom firmware installs for us.

The final step to this process is downloading "Comgenies Awesome file Manager. You do not need black box or anything else, it works with just the one file. Now, download this file.

Get your storage device and connect it to your PC. Now download this program, for the PS3, called File Manager:

Make sure the file is says its signed by someone. And save this to your usb. Now, connect the usb to your ps3 and scroll over to the "Install Package Files" And press x, now you will see file manager in the file, and download this. Now, you should see this in your game column.

Now, this is how to use file manager. Get a patch you want (I prefer v8 derek trotter) but you can get whatever you want. Ok, keep your usb plugged into your ps3, and start file manger. When it opens, Select the usb file from the right column, copy the patch mp.ff by pressing start. Now, go over to the left column and select "dev hddo" When you enter this file, select the game file, then the Blus code for your area "Mine is 30377" And next, select the top USDIR. Now, when you get in there, you need to go go back to the right column and press circle to copy the patch over to the left column, when it is copied, select it from the left column, and start modern warfare. Go to multiplayer, the play online, the private match, and then start it, and there you have it. You just made a Modded lobby. For any questions, contact me. Have fun!
