No it's not necessary to do hacks in mw2, lol, I know you typed that wrong, yeh you can only hack if you have Custom Firmware on your PS3.

As we know you will need to be on CFW this is patch due to the 3.56 Update . they would be releasing the 3.56 CFW soon so we can start running homebrew again
