Im 12 and what is this?
Well, basically AlterIWnet is a free copy of MW2 with it's own servers. This TuT will allow you to run modded patches onto it like DT Blackrain, Mossy V8 ect.
*NOTE*
You CANNOT play online after this without re installing AlterIWnet
Well anyway, lets get started.

You must login or register to view this content. is the AlterIWnet download page. Follow those instructions. Once you have done that, run the game, enter the 'I will not cheat ect'. Then quit.
Instructions are:
1. Download the torrent on the page linked above and download it.
2. Get the file and extract it.

3. Run alterIWnet_configure.exe to change your name

4. Run iw4mp.exe. Below is what should appear.

Now in the box that tells you to not cheat, copy this to make it easier:

I am aware of the repercussions of cheating, and will do my utmost best to ensure I do not cheat.

5. Goto the next page in this guide!

Since the latest version (at the time of this writing) does not support mods, you need to downgrade it to a lower version.
Download You must login or register to view this content. archive and extract it somewhere. Once it is extracted, it should look like this:
Now, drag everything into the folder with iw4mp.exe.
*NOTE*
If you plan on playing online again with this, make a backup. Make a backup anyway.
Now test this by running iw4mp.exe
It should say "This build is no longer valid to play online"
This is good.

You need to download and un pack Mod Loader. You can download it You must login or register to view this content.. Once extracted, it should look like this:
Now again, place all those files into the iw4mp.exe folder.
Your folder with MW2 in it should look like this:

Now you need to find a patch. You can download the pc patch of DT Blackrain You must login or register to view this content. (All credit to DerekTrotter and others).
Extract the blackrain folder into the iw4mp.exe folder. Should be like this:
alterIWnet:
blackrain\common_scripts
blackrain\maps
blackrain\we
Open MW2_Modder.ini in the AlterIWnet folder. I suggest using Notepad++ to do this. It will look something like this:
Now modify it so it looks like this:
*NOTE*
If you changed the name of the folder, make it that name.
Save the file and your good to go!
Step 5: Loading the patch into the game
Start 'LoaderX.exe' (the one in the AlterIWnet folder) as a administrator. Leave it. Now start iw4mp.exe. Once it has loaded, press alt + tab to go back to the desktop and on the LoaderX program, press Inject DLLS. LoaderX looks like this:
Once you have pressed that, go back to MW2 and go into a private match! Start the game and hey presto, your running a modded patch!
The controls for DT Blackrain are:
-5: Enter/up
-N: Down
-3/4: Left and right
-R: Back (Exit)

HOW TO Convert patch_mp.ff to a PC Patch
You need to download You must login or register to view this content. (credits to BucN I think) and extract it. Have it ready on your desktop. Now open it as admin. It should look like this:
Now press open and navigate to your patch_mp.ff
Then press PS3 to PC or Xbox to PS3 respectively.
A folder should appear in the Converter folder called gscdump, this is where the PC files are. You need to copy all those files to your blackrain folder for the AlterIWnet folder.
To use again, delete the gscdump folder.

Would this work if you had the actual game? Mine works and everything with steam and crap, but my friend bought a legit one and ripped it to a disk and i can play online and everything. i can access the file in the disk so will this work?

I don't really know, but probs not. You can try. But I don't think so.
