(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}); Ok, so I will say that if anyone finds software that allows you to do this in a simpler fashion, let me know and I will try and update my tutorial to use it.

GUIDE VERSION: 1.2

What you need:

  • Charles Web Debugging Proxy
  • CA24.cer SSL Certificate --> You must login or register to view this content.
  • Dev_blind or Abestos
  • Port 8888 on your computer available
  • MW2 1.11 PKG for you region (Link below)
  • Some patience

MW2 1.11 Update:

  • USA - BLUS30377
  • French - BLES00684
  • Italian - BLES00685
  • German - BLES00686
  • Spanish - BLES00687
  • Australia - BLES00683

From above download the package containing the ID of your region from the MediaFire folder: You must login or register to view this content.

Now this method will work with any bypass method like charles or f*uckpsn. You will have to configure a proxy for your PS3 and have port 8888 (charles default) available.

Steps:

Use either dev_blind or Abestos to mount your dev_flash in read/write mode. If you already have CA24.cer from charles in your NAND, you can skip this, though it is ok to re-copy.

Once you have it mounted, use a FTP server or file manager and overwrite /dev_blind/data/cert/CA24.cer or /dev_rwflash/data/cert/CA24.cer with the one given in the tutorial requirements.

Reboot your PS3 afterwards..

Now configure PS3 proxy settings. Use your computers IP address (look in network connections or ipconfig from CMD, google if needed)

Port is 8888 unless you tell charles to use something else.

Now launch charles if not running, and run MW2..

If you are asked to update, back out.

Now in the recorded session, you will find an entry for a0.np.ac.playstation.net

You must login or register to view this content.

if you get a default file instead of a XML file then Right-click the a0.np.ac.playstation.net:443 listing and Check SSL Proxying.

Then re-run the MW2 game.

Now in charles, right-click the XML file and select Map Remote

You must login or register to view this content.

Use the settings in Map To.

Confirm and close the dialog.

*NOTE*: please check You must login or register to view this content.

If you don't get 403 Forbidden, then let me know. I have had issues with people in different regions connecting to this server.

If you have a spare web server that you would like to host a small file on let me know.

How To Use For Modding:

  1. If you wish to mod with other players, delete your game update if on 1.12, and install the 1.11 PKG via USB (CFW required). Be sure to use the correct region from above.
  2. Make sure the Map Remote is enabled for the XML file under a0.np.ac.playstation.net.
  3. If you need to copy your modded patch over, go ahead and do so. Updating or deleting updates overwrites the patch_mp.ff
  4. Run MW2 and Enjoy!!

How To Use For Legit:

  • Disable Map Remote for the XML file
  • Exit MW2, then re-run.
  • You will be prompted to update. Accept, update and play legit..

I do realize that this is kinda complicated, but its technically a SSL spoof still and uses the method discovered for bypassing.

Hope you enjoy and I will see everyone on the 1.11 servers! I am personally happy to have this update and will allow me to play legit again when ever I want...

Enjoy.. Happy

You think too complicated, even though this might be complicated too. Since we have the SSL connection to sony servers, why not take advantage of it?

Though i know some rep hores will try to re-post this and others make shitty applications to do the same. Though I do respect Drizzt for his ruby script as it is very effective.

Veni. Vidi. Vici.
Very nice. I still think just using patch blocker, or fukpsn is a bit easier xD

Um i do not think f*ckpsn blocks updates, only gets you on PSN? Also a patch blocker merely will block the request for the update xml and will send a fake page back. This actually spoofs the update and could be used for other purposes too.

Truthly, everything that sony responds with is usually a XML result set.

Setting it up takes effort, but using it afterwards is rather simple.
