I don't think the "-" leans are useful, but they are there to experiment.
For my patch, I use:

bind DPAD_LEFT "LeanRight+" ; bind DPAD_RIGHT "LeanLeft+" ;

Ps the - is to stop the leanright or left

if you bind dpadleft to leanleft, when you release tye button you stand straight.
I have seen when it doesnt go straight, i think its when you:
Bind dpadleft "vstr left"
Set left "+leanleft; // then you would have to:// set left vstr sleft
set sleft "-leanleft; set sleft vstr left"
