If you can edit the patch you could use the select button to close the menu instead of scrolling till Menu close.
Add this "vstr menu6" to this bind BUTTON_BACK "togglescores" it should look like this
bind BUTTON_BACK "togglescores; vstr menu6"
You would be able to press select to close the menu. Hope I helped.
