I'm getting another PS3 by Thursday, and really need to know how to do everything. I would try to find out myself, but I did it once and it was a complete flop. I need to know everything from installing the cfw/ftp/file manager to transferring the patch to the other PS3. If anyone could help, that'd be fantastic.

To install the Kmeaw CFW set up your USB so there's a PS3 folder, then inside that a folder called UPDATE then inside that put the kmeaw CFW (make sure to rename to PS3UPDAT.PUP before putting it there) making sure all the names are in all caps. Then put the USB in your PS3 then go to system update in the settings XMB column.

To install the homebrew apps put them on your USB then go to the game column on the PS3 xmb then down to install package files then select that and install them.

To use the FTP server you'll obviously need an FTP program for your computer, You must login or register to view this content. is a good choice.

Then to use FTP to transfer files start blackb0x FTP and connect to the IP that will show up on your screen using filezilla on your computer.

Make sure to have both your computer and PS3 connected to the same network if possible, if not connect them directly together using an ethernet cable. If done properly you can move and transfer files on the PS3's hard drive.

Then just look for the MW2 game data folder and put the modded patch you have in there to replace the normal one.

Then to host online use the data transfer utility to transfer from the CFW ps3 to a PS3 on 3.66 and capable of online.

I looked at the transfer tutorial link. It said that If I do it, it will delete all of my information on my PS3. I do not want that to happen. Is that for anything, or is that just for transferring whole hard drives?

It will send all the files from the sending PS3 to replace the ones on the other PS3, but deleting any others also I think.

So yeah I would backup any game saves/other things if you have any you want to keep...

Just one more thing. How do I install patches?

You put the patch_mp.ff file in the game data folder for MW2, I don't remember where it is but the folders for game data have names like BLES00683 (which is a the MW2 game data folder name for I think the US version.

Thanks for all the help! Just one final thing. It seems I can never get host in a match. As far as I know, If you're not host, you don't get to use your hacks. Now, is there anyway I could get and keep host? Keep in mind, I can't do anything too difficult .

The patch has auto host in it. So you will pretty much get host every time. PM me if you need any more help.
