  • Introduction.
Hello everyone. I thought I would make this thread because I have been in a lot of clans in my time and there are a lot of places that people go wrong. So in this thread I will show you how to create a successful clan that will hopefully go far. Something that I will be putting emphasis on is originality, I will explain it throughout the thread.
[multipage=Clan Type]

The type of clan is where you should get started. There are many choices, QuickScoping clans are the most popular but 90% don't last a month. I will give more information about Quickscoping later on in the thread.

  • Be different.
There are no limits on the types of clans you can create, a search and destroy clan, a pistol only clan, a knifing only clan etc. Original clan types often get attention and stand out from the others simply because they are different to all the others.

  • Do what you're good at.
Don't be afraid to make it a clan that plays to your strengths. For example, if you're a great Headquarters player then you could make it a "HQ only clan". You would really last long because you would b e the best at what you do.

[multipage=Clan Name]

  • Make it relateable.
Okay this may seem like a minor thing but it's still worth mentioning. Clan name is how people will first judge you so make sure you choose the right name. Make it try to relate to your type of clan. For example, if you happen to be a HQ clan you could put "HQ" somewhere in your name.

  • Common names are a No no.
Try to stay away from clan names like "xScOpeZzZ-" they aren't very creative and we have all seen them before. Try to keep clan names in lowercase letters like so "Meteorites-". It will look far clearer and it doesn't look stupid and common.

  • Fanboys.
It's also advised that you stay away from being a "Fanboy" type clan. Don't choose names like "OpTiC" as they look stupid and common. If you start a fanboy clan get ready to be laughed at by rival clans.

  • Casual members (Regarding name changes).
Your clan shouldn't necessarily require members to change their names. Your clan have casual members that only change their clan tags. You should be aiming to have devoted members but not everybody is ready for the commitment.

[multipage=Members]

Members are the most important part of your clan. If you don't have members then you're not really a clan, are you? Winky Winky

  • Your friends
Your first clan members should be your friends who you talk to often. Your friends will be loyal to you and shouldn't drop out of the clan without any notice. You can also easily get in contact with your friends when they are not online so it's easier to organize clan battles and such.

  • Just play online.
After you recruit your friends you should just start to play online together. When people on the other team see a six man clan straight up owning them they will want to join, trust me.

  • Members of NGU.
You can find skilled players in many places. Here on NGU there are many people looking to join clans so it would be a good place to start. If you make a long thread describing what type of clan you are and what kind of members you're looking for then you will get a lot of people asking to join.

  • Finding random people.
If you play random games online you can also come across some skilled players. Try to get into a conversation with them and maybe mention to them about joining your clan. You often stumble upon the best players in online matches.

  • Youtube
Clans often advertise themselves on youtube but it's hard to get noticed there as many clans go there to advertise. Maybe put a few casual videos on there but don't use it as your main source of members.
[multipage=Trialing]
Note: This section is only for competitive clans. If you're starting a casual clan then this section is not necessary.

Trails are an important part of choosing you members. It separates the scrubs from the pros. Cool Man (aka Tustin)

  • Methods of Trialing
The best way to trial is by playing games online or by having clan battles. This will show the players abilities better than a 1v1. Try to vary the type of trials you have, it's a good way to find the players various abilities.

  • Second chances
If players fail trials you should sometimes give them a second chance if they are eager. They could just be having an off-day, as all of us have had one at some point.

  • Long trials
Make the trials long as people often join a clan after a quick 1v1 and then leave as they didn't really have to work to get in the clan. If you make the members work for it then they will stay because they have devoted time into joining the clan.

  • Who should Trial them?
You should try to trial most of the new members yourself so you can personally know their abilities. When the clan starts to grow you might want to ask some of the better members to trial them if you can't manage them all on your own.

[multipage=Clan Battles]

Note: Once again, this section is only for competitive clans. If you're starting a casual clan then this section is not necessary.

Clan battles are an important part of any competitive clans success. You want to win the majority of them to make a name for yourselves. Many clans go about clan battles in the wrong way. In this section I will outline how to have a clan battle in the correct way.

  • Bad Language
When you see this you may think "I'm not 5, I can curse whenever I want" which is true but you should refrain from disrespecting rival clans for the following reasons. When you disrespect a rival clan the will often get agitated, this may cause them to cheat or rage quit, no-one wins in this situation. If the clan ever goes under it may be a good may to find good members so you should stay respectful.

  • Improving your clans skills
Back in my clanning days I found that a brother clan was a great may to improve your clans skills. If you ever battle a clan that is very skilled you should ask them to have a couple more friendly battles. It's a great way to practice for your competitive clan battles.

  • Don't be afriad to think big.
Don't be afraid to challenge big, famous clans. If you give them a good battle you will really prove yourselves as a serious clan. Battling scrubs is too easy and get you no-where, your skill will just decrease if you don't challenge your abilities regularly.

[multipage=Quickscoping]
This section will cover the subject of Quickscoping clans. Quickscoping clans are hugely popular so it's a real challenge to become successful in this area. Some of the most well-known clans are quickscopers so if you can make it big as a quickscoping clan you will be remembered for years to come.

  • In clan battles.
Try not to break the rules in clan battles, no-matter what the other team does. I hate to see things like "I hardscoped you because you hardscoped me" it's so childish and if you act like this you will not get very far at all.

  • Trickshots
Unless you happen to be a trickshotting clan then you shouldn't judge your members on their trickshooting skill. In clan battles trickshots are useless, quick killing is what's necessary. If members tend to try and hit trickshots in a clanbattle then you should think about removing them from the clan. Trickshooters are useless to a competitive clan.

  • Trials.
I already mentioned this before but 1v1s are not an accurate means of trialing. You should try to get new members into clan battles to see if they can work well in a team. Teamwork is the key to winning clan battles.
[multipage=Clan leader]

  • Importance of a good leader
Having a good leader is important in a clan. When you go through tough times(it will happen, trust me) a good leader will always pull through. Good leaders are hard to find you if you find one make sure to give him the top spot in the clan.

  • Founders don't have to be leaders.
In clans I often see the founders taking up the leader position. This should always be the case. If a founder is not organized and not a natural leader then the clan will eventually crumble.

[multipage=Conculsion]
If you follow this thread then should be on you way to becoming a very successful clan. If you can think of anything to add then please, quote me with you suggestion. I'm not good with threads and this is my first big one so please give me some feedback. My brain is fried from writing all this so I hope you enjoyed. Ciao!

  • Some useful websites
Useful site for PS3 clans. Look up PS3leadeboard.com. There are a lot of clans on there and it's a great place to make yourself famous.

As I have said in the thread you should put an emphasis on clan battles and teamwork. 1v1s aren't a good method of trialing. You're clan sounds good but you should try to get more members so you always have a 6 man team.

If you need any help you can ask me. Awesome face
