Is there a patch or something I need to install so I can invite friends to my lobbies and join them?

I am sure this can be done cause before my ps3 was ligit factory standard running latest version of firmware and my mate used to invite me online to his hacked games and I could join. Anyone pleaseee help cause i dont wanna play wit randoms, thanks

Sorry I am not the smartest of all people what do I need to edit or download so that my friends whom have factory ps3 can play in my lobbies and I can join theres? I read something about a patch blocker (would this allow them to do so or is that irrelevant regarding my above questions)? All i want to do is to be able to invite my legit friends to games and visa versa also I can only join lobbies with other hackers so yeah and ma mate can invite me an join normal games wit his patch so I have no idea what i need to do

delete default_mp.self and tell your friends to install a patch blocker

Okay I will delete the default_mp.self where is this file located? and what does it do? and I will also follow your instructions for my friends to add patch blocker. Do i need to install patch blocker as well or not, thank you

grrr so annoying what is the other way around this without having to get all my friends to download patch blocker?? As I mentioned earlier my mate runs modded lobbies and we can all join on normal ps3 that does not have patch blocker is there a certain patch or thing I can download to get what I am after??
