Introduction
Hi! My name is Daviga404 and I'm going to explain to all the noobs out there about the following:
- Challenge Lobbies, Can I make them?
- When will a new CFW for 3.7x be out?
- Can I make a CL without jailbreaking?
- What other hacks can I put on?
- Can I downgrade?
- I'm on a CFW already, how do I make a challenge lobby?
Challenge Lobbies, Can I make them?
The ability to make Challenge Lobbies completely depends on your firmware, and if your PS3 is hackable. If you have firmware 3.6x, 3.7x or above then you cannot make a challenge lobby on your PS3. Sorry! The reason for this is because to make challenge lobbies, you need to replace a file on your PS3 system using a file manager or ftp, both of which are homebrew applications. Homebrew can only be run on a jailbroken PS3 (a PS3 with custom firmware). Currently, the latest custom firmware for 3.55. Some users stayed at 3.55 and had PSN via the DNS trick. This basically made the PS3 think that there was no further updates. The 3.55 CFW was made by a well-known hacker called GeoHot. He hacked the iPhone and unlocked it, near the time when 3.6x came out, GeoHot was sued by Sony in court. He was no longer aloud to release any CFW to the public, so CFW development for further versions was slowed down. His website with special keys on that hackers needed to make CFW was censored, hiding the keys. So basically, the answer to this question is no if you have firmware higher than 3.55.
When will a new CFW for 3.7x be out?
To this question, it is nearly impossible to know the answer. All I know is that PS3 hackers are working on CFW for higher firmwares than 3.55. They have been doing this for quite a long time now, but the production of the CFW is slowed as explained in the question above, as GeoHot can no longer release any CFWs. If you want to find out how the production of the latest CFW is going, check out some well known PS3 hackers on Twitter, where they usually post updates, or even better, you could look around in the NextGenUpdate PS3 Hacking forum. So the answer to this question is unknown, but I know this much: when a new CFW is released, it will be all over the forums. We can only hope for it, so check regularly.
Can I make a CL without jailbreaking?
In short, no. Making challenge lobbies requires you to replace a file inside the MW2 data on the system. It is not accessible in any way other than using homebrew software, which requires jailbreaking. That's all I'm going to say for this question, because not much else can be said.
What other hacks can I put on?
Well, you can put the prestige hack on easily. There are plenty of tutorials about it here on the forums. To my knowlodge (correct me if I'm wrong) the campaign is still hackable. If you can get in an infection lobby, then you can get prestiged, have an unbound clan tag, etc. Alot of these lobbies are around on CoD, so keep trying to get into one! An easy way to find one is to look in the verified/unverified lobbies sections of the MW2 Exploits and Hacks forum. There you'll find plenty of fantastic lobbies.
Can I downgrade?
Okay, read this at least 5 times. Yes, but you need an E3 Flasher. I do not recommend downgrading!!! My brother once tried downgrading, he ended up having to send his PS3 away to Sony for repair, and as it's warranty was voided, he had to pay! I would HIGHLY HIGHLY reccomend not trying to downgrade AT ALL. You would be risking permanently damaging your PS3, beyond repair, then having to send it away and pay.
I'm on a CFW already, how do I make a challenge lobby?
This question is easily answered by having a look around on the Exploits and Hacks forums. You're bound to find a great tutorial on this. I can't explain to you since it was quite a while ago since I did this (yes I did it when I had CFW). All I know is that you need a USB stick and a brain.

If you're talking to me about saying people are trolls, i said the guy with the name NGU TROLL was a troll, and with a troll title. I was joking, not being serious. I appreciate his help.
