I'm just after a little help with data transferring between 3.55cf & 4.00of, I know most of the stuff apart from these few things...

Q. When putting a modded .ff on the 4.00 do I transfer from 4.00of > 3.55cf > 4.00of or just 3.55cf > 4.00of?

Q. Do homebrew apps get transferred aswell? ( Although I'm guessing they wont boot )

To give you a brief explanation of what data transfer does. Data transfer transfers everything from One PS3 to another using a simple Ethernet Cord. While it deletes(Formats) everything that you have on your 4.00 PS3. So if you understood what I said, it basically means it will transfer everything from your 3.55 CFW PS3 to the 4.00 OFW PS3 with all the homebrew apps and everything, But All your trophies and PSN games Picture, Musics will be deleted on the 4.00 OFW PS3 and Yes, The homebrew apps wont work on the 4.00.

Simple Version:
1.) Transfer 3.55 CFW to 4.00 OFW
2.) Yes and be wont able to boot. =]

So before I transfer from 3.55 to 4.00 I should copy my game saves and other stuff alike to a external HD, correct?

Then I can just copy them back onto my 4.00?

yes thats what you need to do. im looking for a ps3 in 3.55 or lower to do this

You could copy saves to a USB/PS Plus cloud, but I'd recommend data transferring from 4.00 to 3.55 first, that way you lose nothing.
Transferring to a lower firmware cannot be normally done, so you will need a spoof and off course custom firmware. Geohot CFW was the only one that worked for me, so get that here, You must login or register to view this content.
