Anyways i have been away from the PS3 and MW2 hacking scene for a while now. When the 3.55 glory days where over I quited hacking.
BUT NOW I AM BACK :evil:

My school got a PS3 (3.41). I want to use it to transfer a patch to my own ps3 (4.00)
-Quick question: Is it possible to upgrade to a 3.55 CFW from 3.41 or do I need to install 3.55 OFW first?

This is what i plan to do:

1) Jailbreak my schools PS3 and install the modded version of the latest MW2 patch (1.13)
2) Use a ethernett cable to transfer the patch to my 4.00 PS3.
3) Play MW2 online with my friends online.

All I want to know is this still possible, or have IW or Sony cockblocked us again kay: ?

i think it's safer to first update to 3.55 and then install 3.55 CFW. Yes you can still data transfer.

Anyways, way back when I jailbroke my PS3, I updated to 3.55 then jailbroke it using the cfw 3.55. I'm pretty sure all the questions you've asked still work otherwise. Good luck.

You can upgrade from 3.41 to 3.55 CFW without the 3.55 OFW. Some people say it's not safe, but it is :y: I've switched from CFW to CFW many times, and people say that's the worst thing you can do, and I've never had any problems. Also, never ever put things like "Sex" in your thread title. FYI: You can always data transfer from a lower firmware to a higher firmware, and also from the same firmware to the same firmware i.e 4.00 to 4.00.

if u dont want to update to 3.55, just use a Ti84 calculator or any dongle to jailbreak it
