Pretty amazing news for me.
How does everyone think this will effect gameplay?
Personally I think it will encourage more teamwork with a couple of people using shield side by side they can provide much needed cover for someone behind them say tring to plant the bomb in an SND game.
I also wonder how much thses shiled will protect you?
Will they bounce off grenades?
deflect LMG bullets or maybe even defend against a rocket launcher.
I cannot wait to find out.

it is like carrying a portable medium thickness wall infront of you i say this because in the new trailer a guy with the riot shield gets shot down by a usp, but it took four shouts instead of 2 or 3 depending on if he has stopping power or not.

I'm interested in seeing how the riot shields work out. Dopey562 pointed out something interesting in particular; what if its not a perk? It could come under a new category of weapons, perhaps like the throwing knife.
I also wonder if the riot shield will be visible on the character's body when it isn't equipped?

theres a video on youtube about the flag runner challenge and the guy that leads the runner carrys a riot shield the whole time THERE WILL BE A RIOT SHIELD IN MW2.
