We've expanded every category quite a bit. That doesn't mean SMGs are now Sidearms, but it does mean we have more than just pistols as side arms. What else is included in the Sidearm category will have to remain a mystery for now.


Maybe we'll get something like Batons to go with those Riot Shields? Stun Rods? Flashlights? Bowie Knife's?

Yeah, by saying "We've expanded every category quite a bit." it makes me even more excited hearing there's going to be something totally new and dope!

I guess we'll just have to wait until the game comes out seeing as fourzerotwo won't release anymore information about it.

Yeah this does sound interesting but why is everybody automatically assuming melee weapons will be added as i would guess the weapon chosen as a side arm would be used in last stand (assuming its still in) although it would be funny seeing someone lying on the floor trying to defend theirselves with a katana i reckon that the new weapons sidearms will more than likely be some smaller machine guns and such which do less damage

Or maybe a fully automatic pistol like the Glock Model 18? :p

Haha that would be funny, duel-wielding fully automatic pistols. I'm not sure though, afterall they did say they'll be expanding the categories quite a bit so maybe they'll have both melee and small-ranged.
