Please Read If You Are Going To Release Something
NGU is a great place to find out the latest and greatest releases in the modding community and for many people looking for answers and updates and new game releases and leaks <3
But specifically the MW2 section has be obliterated by many people posting threads that are not wanted or needed.
To my knowledge, many new comers to the NGU community, which is a very respectable and friendly community, have been posting so called releases, claiming they are an edit or even worse, that they have made the menu themselves.
Thing that make a good post and are sort after in a thread:
[/U]
- Presentation is key to making your thread / release stand out from the rest -
- Detailed information about what you are releasing, what it has or does or what you are trying to achieve -
- Credit, give a mention to people who were involved with the release, like people who have released a key code or way of coding that has been used by you -
Specific to the modified patches forum:
- Please do not post releases that have had nothing added to the patch and only spammed the patch with your name, it is not needed and it will only cause hate across the thread -
- Do not claim that it is your patch knowing full well it is a edit of a well known patch as it will also get you hated upon -
- Lack of information is in a sense proving you are a leacher. Check out some of the best threads for an idea how to Show off your patch, they will be linked below -
- Bring something new to the forum that may not have been released or maybe just something creative that no-one has seen before -
Threads that you can use as inspiration for presentation:
-
You must login or register to view this content. A very nice clean, simple layout.
-
You must login or register to view this content. Again, a nice, easy to understand layout
Tips to make your thread more effective:
- [SPOILER*] TEXT HERE [/*SPOILER] This will make the text only visible when the spoiler button is pressed, NOTE: Remove the *'s, only added them to make the code visible
Example:
See, nice aint it <3
- [CODE*] TEXT HERE [/*CODE] Puts text into a notepad style wrap, useful for releasing codes / scripts & credits
Example:
See, Nice aint it
- Use colour, but do NOT use the following:
Cyan < Cannot read it, DO NOT USE !!!
Neon Green < Kinda see it but not recommended
Yellow < Again, not very visible
I hope this will improve posts in this section(s) and stop the not needed threads.
Move if needed, as long as it will be seen xD
