After reviewing 45 minutes of in-game footage from the highly-anticipated first-person shooter, the certification body opted to impose its strongest rating available.
In the sparse amount of information accompanying the ruling, the BBFC revealed that the game features around 40 minutes of storytelling cut scenes.
Previous game Call Of Duty: World At War secured a 15-rating from the BBFC, despite depicting strong scenes of soldiers being burned with flamethrowers.

Doesnt anybody think that this high rating is a good thing. Like nobodies played the actual game yet. maybe they rated it 18 because its got more intense blood and gut spilling and obscene language that we just havent seen in the trailers and in game play. Maybe we see people getting tortured it is a war time and they have to top WaW's putting the cigarette out on the guys face/head. I say this games going to be insane because of this rating. it could only mean good things.

Mw2 is 18 because there IS a torture scene it was in the Playstation Official Magazine UK I read it in there, and anyway who cares if it's 18 all the -18's are just going to get their parents to buy it for them (like I did =D hehe) so it really doesn't matter what age rating they choose because that's just going to keep on happening.
