Third person is not an option that can be turned on and off.As you can see below it is a new gametype. No need to worry about it not being balanced and people switching between views to check corners because it is a specific mode where everyone is in 3rd person. I think it will be a great new edition to add some variety to gameplay

Well, I'm a sniper so pretty much I am not going to play 3PS TDM.

NO it isn't... just like my brother, he doesnt play First-person shooter games (he dont like it) so it is not a waste... Think about it, they added it for some reason?... = MW2 will be TWO (or maybe more) games in ONE

Split screen (campaign) or Co-Op or single etc

They are just trying to put like ''ALL'' shooter games in ONE which means MORE MONEY or maybe THE BEST GAME OF ALL TIME (shooter)

Today Infinity Ward's community manager Robert Bowling (A.K.A. fourzerotwo) has confirmed that a third-person camera viewpoint will be available in this holiday's monolithic Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2, though it'll be limited to specifically labeled online playlists.

To quote: "It's not something you can toggle on and off in ANY game," said Bowling. The special mode can only be played in private matches - toggled on or off just like "Hardcore" settings - or in playlists that are designated for third-person play.

According to Bowling, everyone playing in a third-person playlist will be restricted to the viewpoint. "This is just another cool way to play the game," he said, "you obviously will still have the option to play gametypes normal as well".
