I just would like to know, why are people making such a fuss on the "airport scene" (in-game mission name: "No Russian")? There is nothing really wrong with the scene [please continue reading]. There is absolutely no gore in the mission, you might see some blood splatting when someone gets shot but there is no blood on the floor [PC version]. Their limb's don't start flying everywhere and get amputated like in World at War which is a more violent and gore video game compared to MW2.

I heard some people say that this scene was way too violent for a "first mission". And do you think that World at War's first mission (Semper Fi if I recall correctly) where your teammate gets a light cigar squashed on his face before getting decapitated and seeing the actual entire scene. Honestly, which is more disturbing (for the appropriate age group 17+ for the US, 18+ for the rest)?

Please debate!

I think that if you're going that way you don't need to look far, turn your T.V. on, watch the news and voila :-)

Perfect, guys, have a look at this:

This is what happens when you don't understand the problem and invent bullshit.

thats the problem tho isnt it mate, its not a game for children, its an 18 rated game (UK) for a reason, parents cant buy their kids a game they are under the age to play, then complain

True, but the age rating isn't something really useful tho: you can have an over-mature 10 year old and an under-mature 20 year old. Happy

but, the game says for ages 17 & Up, so you really can't blame the makers of Modern Warfare 2, but the parents granting their children under the designated age to it

Its not the blood and gore you idiots, its the whole, killing hundreds of civilians and causing mass terrorism. Thats whats the whole controversity is about, because its a big problem in our world, they dont want kids to see it and go out and do that with friends.. thats the point, not because theres blood or ciggaretes

Do a barrel roll!
I think the main reason there was a fuss made about it was because you are actually playing as a terrorist and in my opinion it wasn't a scene full of gore but it was quite disturbing; just slaughtering innocent civs in an airport!

I loved this mission, was a bit strange as I wanted to blow the Russian fags away but it wouldn't let me, and when it did they turnt on me calling me traitor. You can see the politics in it all with what has been happening (suicide bombers, mass shootings etc) but this is by no way a means for people to go out and action what they see, people are different and there views are different also, if this is used as an excuse when someone does this then surely all films, games, music should be stopped as one game is not a instigator for violent actions. Is a gun dangerous?? or is it the person holding the gun??
