Expand your Modern Warfare 2 experience
Modern Warfare 2 has been set loose upon the masses to a fanfare of press and community applause, resulting in the biggest release in entertainment history. Already selling in excess of 5 million copies worldwide, what does Infinity Ward have planned next for their killer wartime epic?A first for a Call of Duty title, Infinity Ward have named the single-player campaign, entitled "For The Record". This got me thinking. Why would IW attach a title to a campaign?Traditionally, post-release, Treyarch and IW would release MP map packs to compliment the final product, adding 3-4 new maps to the overall roster. These extra map packs have sold extremely well in the past, with Call of Duty: World at War's three map packs moving over 10 million units.
Not everyone who purchases Modern Warfare 2 will play it solely for the multiplayer mode. Some users (like yours truly) enjoy the single player experience much more than getting my ass handed to me by thirteen year old boys (Ummm, that didn't sound right. Ed). The fact that IW has named the campaign "For The Record" makes me think that Infinity Ward has other plans for downloadable content. Apart from releasing two or three extra MP map packs, I think IW are planning to expand upon the campaign by offering downlaodable episodes, each with their own focus and storyline.Modern Warfare 2 is like three games in one. You have three different modes, Campaign, Spec Ops and Multiplayer, each separated by individual menus. Infinity Ward basically had three different teams working on each component of MW2, which would reinforce my theory. Let me explain. Each team has their own tasks and internal development process to reach the final product, thereby having the concentrated efforts of each team focused on one product, they are able to produce slightly different products. In turn, each team could effectively release an expansion to their particular component. This would be a very smart move as you would not only be pleasing the MP crowd, but the community who prefer Spec Ops and Campaign as well. Instead of releasing a new Modern Warfare game every 2 years, IW could use Modern Warfare 2 as a platform, much like Rock Band, and expand the title through downloadable mission packs.

i know its alot to read but i thought it was interesting i think it would be cool to have DLC for the campgin
