Basically,you have one man army on,it takes up your secondary gun slot. Now if you equip it,it takes you to the class changing menu thing. When that is open,you can't do anything,so you're a sitting duck.

But what I found was that,if you stand over a gun and press /_\ (Fail triangle) and before the menu pops up,hold [],you can pick up another gun and drop one man army.

It's all to do with the timing.

It's really useful in my opinion because if you haven't unlocked the pro of one man army,you can get it easily.

For every kill you get with it equipped,you get closer to do the challenges for it.

Eg-Killing 500 people with it on.

Even if you don't have it as your second weapo,it still counts as a kill with it on.

So I guess you could call it a glitch as it is cheating the game abit and don't think they intended that.
