Now after turning it on again it says "The hard disk's database will be rebuilt.", with the only option being "OK". What should I do? Lose my 62 stars for Spec Ops so far or just turn off and on again? I have to go to the vet now to pick up my cat who just had an operation, so I'll leave it on the screen w/o hitting anything until I get back. If I remember rightly this happened once before(unrelated to MW2) and I restarted it and all was well. But nvm guys please advise me on what to do. Any help much appreciated.

I really don't know what to say, you made the big mistake already by turning your ps3 off.

I don't know this for sure, but this could be the start of something bad. my PS3 had this problem, and it kept freezing after a while too. I finally got frustrated and just sent it back!

I restarted it twice and now voila it works w/ nothing corrupt or anything, guess I'm kinda lucky. Got to say though MW2 is the only game to ever make my PS3 freeze(happened twice in a month though, so not too bad).

Know what you mean, its happened to me a few time. I notice that it has alot of laggy moments when going back to the menus aswell. Like say you lose connection to the host, it will always have a bit of a lag.

Your lucky when this happened to me with GTA I had to buy a new HD!

You'll not lose ANYTHING ^^ ive had this 2 times and made it... " pushed OK* and after that evrything was normal

you need to change the hard disk i am sorry for you but everything will be gone if you can sync online do it so trophies will be there

All is well, guess it changes from issue to system.
