Post: Need some help for Locking Lobbies

(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}); Okay, so I've gone through BMX's tutorial, and I'm having some problems. If you can lock lobbies, then please answer the following questions, I would greatly greatly appreciate it.

So how do we know which packet contains the 'right data'?
What would you consider to be the 'right data'? ...Or is it just blind guessing?
How long do you usually sniff for packets?
If you are already host, do you even need to lag the room?
If you are host, then what do you do exactly to 'lock' the room...?
After you become host, from what I understand you need to just keep sending the 'right data' packet over and over in an infinite loop at 1,000ms. Doing so locks the lobby? So does this mean that if I stop it, the room will be open?

I'm almost always host, so locking lobbies shouldn't be a difficult task; it seems as though 1/3 of the tutorial is attempting to get host, so thats most of the work cut out for me.

lol i tried all the hard work you did but failed and forgot about it, try doing this,

Upload a youtube vid about 50-100 mb, and start a free-for-all or whatever and when ever it says migrating host leave and imediatly join in sessioin or have a friend invite you then the lobby will be locked but when you leave stop uplading the vid, and you can do whatever you want. Rep+

I'm a little bit confused by your wording...

What you're saying is forget about packet injection and all of that fancy complicated stuff and do this: (in this case Search and Destroy and I'm doing this for boosting)

- Make yourself lag (you say upload a YT video, I have a program to make me lag, so, click "Make me lag" on that program)

- Wait for the "migrating host screen" (what if I'm host, then what?) then leave the game (you can't leave a game during host migration... so...?)

- Leave the game (assuming you can't leave, you mean join on a friend who is also in a Search & Destroy?) and join on one of your friends who are in a Search & Destroy from the XMB

- When you get in your friend's game, that game will become locked and only the host can invite people into that game (so, what if neither my friend or I are host, how do we take control of a room so we can invite people into it?)

- When you join on your friend from the XMB, stop lagging (uploading a YT video or using your lagging program)

Is that what you meant by what you wrote? Please reply, I will +Rep.

**Note, I've never locked lobbies in any Call of Duty before, so this is new to me - however, network manipulation is not, so I can easily handle whatever you throw at me.

ok, you got most of it right, but you make it lag before you join a game, and dont have your friends in the party, if you done it right no body will join the lobby and you can invite friends but once there are enough and it says host migration, leave, it wont matter whos the host, just as long no random people join, once the countdown starts if no randoms join then the lobby is locked. hope it helped
