I don't really notice the range reduced with a silencer. If you're that good a shot it wont effect you. I definitely know what you mean about not being one shot kills though. No scoping seems to never ever be a one shot kill for some reason. They should be a one shot kill without stopping power. Honestly id like to see someone get shot in the arm with a sniper when hes standing side on and the he'd be able to run off. Its just not going to happen. that bullets going right through him.

Silencers do not reduce range on snipers. Instead, they deduct 20 hit points (70 to 50) while keeping the same 1.1 to 1.5 multipliers that COD4 had. This means that it's impossible to have a 1 shot kill with a silencer in core without SP and even tough with SP, even if HS. I think this is retarded. Silencers are effectively useless on a sniper, unless you play (un)hardcore game modes.

It's pretty stupid for IW to have the damage reduced when it doesn't show on the bar stats.
Damage over distance is reduced by silencers, it's more reasonable.

yea ive noticed silencer reduces damage, other than that just get them on the 1 shot kill spots (chest, head, etc.)

Stat bars in game are very vague and useless in determining exact specs and effects of attachments/range/etc.

Here are those multipliers i was talking about:

intervention: 1.5 - 1.5 - 1.1
Barret: 1.5 - 1.5 - 1.1
WA2000: 1.5 - 1.5 - 1
M21 EBR: 1.5 - 1.1 - 1

I have noticed a reduction in 1 shot kills at any range when I use Silencer. I think their logic is screwed with them. Silencers definitely slow a bullet in real life. But the kinetics are there at closer range. But this is not reflected in MW2. I have had close range head shots not kill with silencers. btw I play Ground War Maps as my reference. They show the stats right but not the actual physics.

imho they have crippled the snipers using silencers. i snipe on boards where it is a tactical advantage where some people snipe on all boards because that is all they can do. i think they cripple the snipers to keep the game from turning snipe fest. personally I miss the map in COD3 (name escapes me)that everyone sniped on. Wasteland comes close but not enough hiding spots and high ground . the trenches and central tunnel bunker keeps it from being a great sniper board.
