first, im using Sony vegas movie studio platinum 9.0 and when i preview it its very laggy. is this normal?

about how long should the trasitions be?

and any other tips would be appriciated.

its totally normal for it to look really laggy when your editing with sony vegas. When you post it up on youtube you'll be good it won't lag at all. Don't put allot of transitions it just makes the video look terrible. Use effects when needed or watch some sony vegas videos on youtube thats how i got started. Post up what you have already no one will say your bad if you say its your first time and what ever. Ill let you know more when it is posted
