NOTE: This will make you start at level 1 prestige x (x meaning whichever you pick)
NOTE 2: You must be using a router for this (wired or wireless, doesn't matter).
NOTE 3: Your unlocks (Emblems, titles, etc.) will NOT be affected. ^.^
NOTE 4: You get to keep all of your challenges progress when you use this! :O

Afterwards, you'll need to set up your network the regular way again, and download the 1.09 patch again.

1. Open the MW2 Leaderboard Tool.
   
2. Near the top, click "MPDATA Editor" once it finishes loading.
   
3. Open your PRESTIGE save and edit its prestige
   
4. Its prestige must be one lower than the one you want to be online!
   
5. Check the "Play online" box.
   
6. Click on "Save file"
   
7. Now transfer both save files (PRESTIGE and ERROR FILE) to your PS3 via a USB Flash Drive.

Getting it online

1. Exit the game and delete the MW2 game data with the game data tool.
   
2. On your computer, open the Patch Blocker tool.
   
3. On the PS3, set up your network by using:
   
4. Network settings -> Custom, pick the defaults for everything until you get to proxy server. In this, pick use.
   
5. In it, enter the IP address and port that you see in the Patch Blocker tool.
   
6. Finish configuring your network, and save the settings.
   
7. Press start on the patch blocker tool.
   
8. Test the connection. If it fails, go to You must login or register to view this content..
   
9. Run MW2 and go to multiplayer.
   
10. Pick "Play online"
    
11. Go back, and go to split screen. Load the ERROR FILE save.
    
12. Ignore the error, and go into the barracks and prestige.
    
13. Go back, go into LAN, and load the PRESTIGE save.
    
14. At this point in time, if you have been signed off ever, simply sign back in before doing the next step.
    
15. Go back, pick play online.
    
16. Go into the barracks and prestige.
    
17. There ya go!

I made this about 1.5 months ago.
And besides, I'm not "trying to get thanks", I'm trying to help by providing a simpler and more clear tutorial for people to use when hacking their prestige.

... Which reminds me, I need to upload the files that I used, because they let you keep your stats, unlocks, challenges, etc.
And supposedly, not all of them do that.

when u prestige u loose them

its obvious u copied this from somewhere because u have no idea. titles and emblems stay,. so do custom slots

but challenges reset no matter what, everyone knows this
u have no idea what your talking about
