(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}); I've found a way to freeze the climbing animation using tactical insertions. Here is how.


1. Get a tactical insertion

2. Get next to something you can climb (with the A or X ,if on ps3, button visible)

3. Set the tactical insertion, and at the very last second, right after it drops, press A or X (for ps3)

The actual animation freezes, and you just can slide around on the surface for a few seconds.
You can also shoot, although the actual gun is turned sideways. If your fast enough, then you can also climb anything relatively low directly in front of you. The sliding is completely controllable, and you can actually move pretty fast.

I highly recommend training perfect timing for this in 3rd person, as you can't tell your doing it correctly unless you are in third person.


Upon further investigation, we have discovered that you can also do this with stun/flash/smoke grenades also. You can also do it with semtex and frags. It can't be done while equipping a riot shield, although if you have your secondary out you can do it.

The list goes like this

Things you CAN do it with:

Tactical Insertions - Recommended, as they can be reused
Frag grenades
Semtex grenades
Flash grenades
Stun grenades
Smoke grenades
Any gun

Things you CAN'T do it with:

Riot shield - Unless you have your secondary out, with the riot shield on your back.
Throwing Knives
Blast Shield
C4
Claymores

PS - Holding a care package, unlike when running, does NOT increase sliding speed.
PSS - You CAN kill people doing this, the bullets go straight, but the gun turns sideways.

it would take less time to jus climb the ladder then to plant the tactical insertion ...

do you stop climbing? or can you move around in the position you would be in?

I have done this LOADS of times before and is completely pointless it lasts for 1 - 2 seconds and then you go back to normal.

It isn't a tactical maneuver by any means. It just looks funny.
