I've grown a custom to using the ACR or M16 on Rust. I usually always have some C4 on hand which can come in handy, and I always have Cold Blooded as well.

I snipe from behind the orange truck in a corner, use a HBS so you know where the enemy are coming from and have a shotgun for if they get close. I've had quite a lot of Chopper Gunners doing this.
