I use it to drain out background noise from my sister and family. Try it out sometime I listen to eminem mainly cause i seem to do better :p

Cool so it's not technically impossible to have custom soundtracks in Multiplayer.
Does Skate 3 have that too? Because in theory it's a more resource intensive game.

I'm not sure about Skate 3. Shaun White snowboarding and Burnout Paradise had an in game menu to to select your custom soundtrack from while in Skate 2 you had to go to the XMB menu.
