Hello everyone. So as most of you know Call of Duty Elite [Beta] is now live. Some of us are in it, and to those members I say congratulations and welcome to the Beta. For those of us who were not fortunate enough to make it into the beta, I do apologize. Fret not though, because I got in the beta on 9/7/11 [11/9/2011 for our UK and EU friends] which means you can still get in. In this thread I'll show you how, as well as how to join the #NextGenUpdate Group within the Elite Beta.

First and foremost joining the Beta. I am not sure if you can still get in or not, but I am assuming so due to my join date. How I did it was the following...(KEEP IN MIND I DID RECEIVE AN EMAIL FROM COD ELITE BACK DURING THE FIRST FEW WAVES OF INVITES SAYING TO JOIN THE BETA, BUT THE EMAIL WAS BROKEN [IMAGES DIDN'T LOAD, DEAD LINKS] AND IT WAS ADVERTISING COD ELITE, NOT THE ACTUAL WELCOME TO THE BETA EMAIL, NOT SURE IF IT'S RELEVANT OR NOT.)


  1. I went to - You must login or register to view this content.

    • If you scroll down a bit you'll see where it says "Register for the Call of Duty Elite Beta - Join now" " Already enlisted, enter here"

      • Looks like this - You must login or register to view this content.


  2. I clicked Join Now
  3. Entered my Information
  4. Waited a day or so
  5. Went back to the website and tried logging in repeatedly
  6. Finally got in and got through.

    • ​Once I was signed in, I got my Welcome to the Beta Email etc.


That's how I got into the Beta here recently. To those of you who try, I wish you the best of luck, and hope to see you in the Elite Beta.

Now on to the main point of my thread. I know there are quite a few members here who are in COD Elite Beta, both PS3 and Xbox 360 users. Don't worry, this is for both consoles, as COD Elite shows which console each player is on respectively. No more guessing.

We (NextGenUpdate) already have a group on there. I encourage all of you to join in our group, to better help track those of us who play the Call of Duty Series, and to better find those who are on their respective consoles, as there IS an Xbox population here, they are just very difficult to locate within the forums.

Here is how to join the NextGenUpdate group on Call of Duty Elite (this is like a 2 minute process so no worries) -

  1. Log in to your Call of Duty Elite Account
  2. At the main screen, look to your left, and click CONNECT

    • ​Looks like this on the left side of your screen - You must login or register to view this content.

  3. When the page loads, (you may have to scroll down just a small bit) look to your right and you'll see the following...

  4. The part we will be focusing on is this part right here - You must login or register to view this content.
  5. Now the easy part...Just type in that box NextGenUpdate <--just like that..

  6. When you do this, you'll see a drop down box appear
  7. Select NextGenUpdate
  8. Click Add it
  9. A message will appear saying "This group already exists, would you like to join it?"
  10. CLICK YES!
  11. You're done, welcome to the Call of Duty Elite NextGenUpdate Group. Wasn't that easy?

    • ​Note: Drop down box mentioned a few steps back wasn't in the screen snap, as I have already joined the NGU group on COD Elite.


That's it. It's that simple. So welcome to the group, add people from the group and go own some pubs.

Feel free to post here saying if you've joined [THE GROUP NOT THE BETA] or not, and if you have, leave your XBL/PSN so it's easier to find on Call of Duty Elite.

Wait, so when I get my hardened edition of mw3 on the 8th (have to pick it up from tesco after work), how do I log in to ELITE? Do I just go to the website and enter a code or will there be instructions?

I got invite on 6/11/11, but I never checked my email. Today I tried to follow the link but I am getting the same error message saying its closed beta and some shit like that.

That's the lazy persons way to it, and guess what would've happened? Someone would've made a thread EXACTLY like mine (detailed and all), and then mine would've been trashed. Don't patronize me saying my thread is way to wordy. I know how to make a quality thread and give the body of the thread some life so it it's trashed or finds its way to the back of the section. Basically yes. Those of us who are in the Beta, and get Hardened our Beta membership will continue, just turn into a full fledged paid membership. Those of us who are in the Beta, but get the regular edition, their membership will continue but turn into a free membership. Those who buy Hardened will get a years worth of Paid COD Elite membership, those who buy Regular will only get the free version of COD Elite (limited features), and to get the full features will have to buy subscription to COD Elite.

Which group bro? The 360 side or the PS3 side. The PS3 side creator is on the first page of this thread. His username is Adam.
